One of the reasons why the Saints can not overpay Kamara.

Where in the hell are the Rams finding this money? This deal makes the Tre White new contract look like chicken feed.

I guess if you (Jalen) can get that type of coin, good for him.

I guess they’re using Monopoly money

Either he gets more or he gets traded.

Is Lattimore on the same level as Jalen Ramsey?

Yes, imho, but not as good as White. Lattimore’s contract will only get more expensive over time. The following is pulled from a very recent USAToday article (SaintsWire) referencing this very topic. I won’t link it directly, but am pulling only the quantitative analysis.

“...For context, here are Lattimore’s regular season stats compared against White and Ramsey since 2018, per Pro Football Reference:

Marshon Lattimore: 30 games played, 3 interceptions and 26 passes defensed, 4 forced fumbles (3 recovered), 102 completions on 178 targets (57.3%) for 1,492 passing yards (3.4 receptions and 49.7 yards per game allowed) and 6 touchdown passes

Tre’Davious White: 31 games played, 8 interceptions and 25 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles (0 recovered), 85 completions on 163 targets (52.1%) for 1,087 passing yards (2.7 receptions and 35.1 yards per game allowed) and 2 touchdown passes

Jalen Ramsey: 28 games played (19 with Jaguars, 9 with Rams), 4 interceptions and 18 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles (0 recovered), 106 completions on 181 targets (58.6%) for 1,405 passing yards (3.8 receptions and 50.2 yards per game allowed) and 4 touchdown passes.”

Lattimore plays as a top 5 CB most every game. However he does have the occasional head-scratcher which makes me think he should be more consistent.

I'm willing to be that he'll have a career season with Malcolm Jenkins and Jackrabbit back there too. More press coverage for Lattimore means more interceptions.

He is a key piece to the defense. Nonetheless, you can't pay everybody. The salary cap is designed to make teams more evenly matched. Loomis can make it happen but at what expense? Who do we not pay when we run out of money?

So are you saying the Saints should have drafted Tre’Davious White ?

There is that SP LSU thingy , though.

Nah, I try not to be an arm-chair coach or a Monday morning QB, I prefer to evaluate things with my on eyes and come to my own conclusions..., lol, knowing full well I don’t have all the resources that Coach has, and without beating others up for the tough decisions they make in real-time. I’m ambivalent to what could have been bc of what actually is.

Getting both Ramczyk and Lattimore in the first round of 2017 was impressive. That being said, the young cornerback from LSU is a studly ballhawk, and shutdown corner. Combined int’s for Ramsey and Lattimore are less than Tre’Dvious White’s. Impressive stat sheet for the young man, so far.

Not to mention, iirc, weren’t the Saints set to announce Mahomes as their draft pick until KC snuck in one pick earlier? At least that’s the rumor mill happenings I recall.

imho, Ramczyk will garner Tunsil money simultaneously with Lattimore demanding Ramsey money. Which makes me say: “Oof”. lol

If it were between signing Lattimore or Ramczyk - I'd always go with the big guy.

And AG, you don't have to tell me that it's not between signing one of the two, and that Loomis can sign anybody the Saints want.

I used to watch that '70s show as a kid in the '80s on Finnish TV.

Just the latest in a string of questionable moves by the Rams. Flailing is a term that comes to mind.
