It's hard to be the leader of a quality defensive line when half of the starters are unavailable. Just sayin'.... :p

Article is behind a paywall. Any chance of getting a summary?

I didn't notice that when I posted it. I believe JP may have access to the site. I was hoping someone does.

It's only week 5.

IIRC he got (sack 1) on Highland Park last week. Cam will be fine.

At this level, it's kind of difficult to accumulate sacks when you get held, choked, hooked around the neck, hands to the face 40 times a game. Not one flag from the zebras.

It is what it is though.

Sacks tend to come in bunches.

If I remember correctly, Jordan was dealing with a core injury like an abductor tear. Something that takes a long time from which to recover.

More holding by offensive linemen allowed wouldn’t surprise me to be a contributing factor. I’d be curious to know if sacks, comparative to last year, are down across the league also.

Just heard that on ESPN that’s why scoring been high, Tom Brady is getting an out with that trash online that Winston ran for his life, holding on every single 3rd down not being called and it’s not tricky tacky holding either

That's the case with everything from Underhill. I'm not willing to invest in yet another subscription just to read an article or two.

Yeah, Nick has got bills like the rest of us and giving away his content (it's his own site) would be unfair to his new business model...

Know in my business, get coonasses who want to watch my methods, techniques and don't give two f'cks that it's how I make my living...

Will continue to share his tweets as he's a very trustful relationship with members of the team and staff and often has a better insight than anyone outside the locker room and goings and comings...

But are sacks everything for a DE?

I'm generally of the same thought. However, Nick's Saints content is just about the best out there. He posts at least one article each day including in-depth analysis and insights. He charges $9 per month. No politics, no ads, no bias. You can't get that at ESPN or The Athletic. Plus you're supporting a local guy who's trying to make it on his own.

I've donated here in the past for the same reasons, which I'm probably overdue for again.

But to answer your question, the article basically stated that the stars on defense haven't performed, especially in the secondary and QBs aren't being forced to hold the ball as long. Getting Davenport and Onyemata back will help create more one on ones across the line.

He's better than Tripplett was when Tripplett was good. Light years ahead of Jeff Duncan

Would like to sub, just can’t afford it. Some of us coonasses don’t have the financial wherewithal to shop at Whole Foods..., much less their butcher! That’s where money’d folks hang out..., and it ain’t me unfortunately.

Good site though, I tested it out yesterday, I liked it a lot and wish him well with the adventure. If I ever get the chance I would recommend it.

David O played well vs Detroit but the other fella you mentioned .... your guess is as good as anyone else's on when he'll become available on Sundays.

I'm sure it is up to the front office and the medical side on when Davenport returns. That's where the vetoes almost always occur.

Mike Triplett = Ray Barrone Likable, but often wrong...

Duncan is too full of himself, same with Holder, those two deserve each other...

Much prefer the humility that Nick Underhill, Luke Johnson, Joel Erickson (now in INDY), Bob Rose have shown in being accessible and responding to fans' questions...

You won't get that with Dunc, Tripp, or Holder who've completely forgotten, ignored their market and are just the job...

One of the big issues with the Saints is that because it's such a small market, and this market's penchant for disliking the media, vs folks in NYC, LA, PHI, CHI, that Saints' Greg Bensel strong-arms local media...

Nick is smarter than most and carefully threads that needle while maintaining integrity...

While I'd probably have an informed spirited discussion on politics with him, he's still someone you'd respect after that discussion...

I'd put Barry Hirstius and Ellias Williams in that group as well. Nick's got the market cornered on Saints related information, though. No one is better than Underhill.

Yeah, Barry has been through the wringer, but he has really stepped up his game this past year...

And Barry really has been gracious in responding to questions regarding the team...
