Like this guy ... catch the ball drop or hand it to referees and head back to the huddle. Reminds me of someone.

Thank you Jesus. Kid learned the playbook faster than Emmanuel Sanders.

Wasn’t really to convincing when it came to that question.
I freaking love this guy though. Could wind up being a major part of this offense for a long time.
Shout out to Harris too.

Anyone see what the injury was/how it occurred.

Smooth routes. Great hands. Run after catch ability. Return ability. A small sample size but the young man looks legit.

He definitely looked polished! Callaway will sell a lot of #12 jerseys.

I'd laugh but it hurts too much.

Michael Thomas
Emmanuel Sanders
Marquez Calloway
Tre’Quan Smith
Deonte Harris

5 WR sets should be unstoppable when we get healthy.

Hopefully Payton doesn't over complicate the situation. Nice options for sure. Better to have options than to have no options I guess.

I’ve been saying that donte Harris has to be involved if we want to advance in this league it’s about speed on speed , quick feet and getting open for Drew in the playoffs, oh and a half arse defense to boot

I agree with what Rez said about this defense not being near as bad as some of y'all are implying. Are opposing offenses moving up and down the field on us and scoring at will? No. Have we given up a big play or two here and there? Yes. But so have most every other team in the league. What I have noticed is that the rash of defensive penalties that were killing us earlier in the year are becoming more manageable.

Currently the Saints have allowed the 7th fewest yards per game to opposing offenses via pass and run. That is not a stat indicative of a horrible defense. I take it that some of you may not have been watching every game possible. If you had you would have noticed that the Saints defense is faring just as well or better than most other NFL teams at the present time.

It’s not an end of the world defense, but the Saints are second to last in Passing TD’s allowed, with 17. Only Atlanta allowing 19 is worse. Keep in mind that Atlanta has played seven games to New Orleans’ six games. That number is pretty darn bad, and it has to improve. Ranking dead last, in the entire league, in number of Passing TD’s allowed shouldn’t be acceptable. And I do find it hard to believe that it’s a lack of talent on the field.

Given the difficulty running the ball against the Saints I suppose the pass would be used more often in scoring by the opponent.

“Used” is not synonymous with abused though, lol. Ranking dead last in the league, in any category, generally doesn’t favor winning records. 4-2 is only a “doink” and an “oh crap, that’s a very good kick” miss away from 2-4, and being eliminated from postseason possibilities. A passing defense that wasn’t dead last in TD’s allowed ratio would ease those close games.

Bottom line, successful teams don’t rely on luck, they create successful environments through unfailing preparation.

All teams rely on luck to a point if they want to win the Lombardi. We had our share in 2009-10. That said, I have less concern about the defense than others. The talent is there and I'm expecting improvement as the season progresses. They were talking this very subject (defenses lagging behind the offenses) on Moving the Chains earlier this afternoon. We notice it with the Saints, but it is going on across the league. They pointed out that the better teams in the league (they included the Saints) are all giving up big numbers. Opposing teams are throwing more to attempt to keep up with the scoring. The cutback on offensive holding and the lack of crowd noise are also factors.

I’m more concerned they go back to just forcing it to Thomas.

The only thing that would stop that would be if he stopped catching everything that is thrown his direction. When he returns he will logically be the primary option and as long as he is open the ball will go his way more times than not. The same is true with every elite receiver that has ever played the game, regardless of team or coach.

That is a good point Guido. However, the big plays and TD's are coming off blown coverages, and the defense pointing fingers at each other is not a good look. That doesn't inspire confidence! :couch:

We tend to only remember the blown plays. Exactly how many of those passing touchdowns actually came off blown coverages and how many came off pass plays in the red zone?

I remember every play that I can't get out of my mind. They are stuck on repeat all day and in my dreams(nightmares) at night.

Back to Callaway. I knew he was going to play even better after his game playing returner and WR. I even started a thread about him because I was so impressed with his play and field awareness.

You were right. Hope he winds up a household name.

After his last couple of outings I believe that his name is already heavily mentioned in a lot of Saints households. It is mine anyway! Who Dat baby! :bng:
