Sean Payton grabbed a sharpie, stood at the board, then proceeded to drive a collaborative effort to get the dink and dunk going? Not defense, but rather short passes under the sticks are what wins championships?

Sorry brother, that’s what you are trying to sell lol.

Both QBs create unique but different challenges for defenses.
Brees doesn't only "dink and dunk". I was addressing the supposition that "dink and dunk" is all Brees can provide. I was saying that Brees can control the clock by hitting multiple receivers as well as anyone in history and that is something that Hill has struggled with. And, yes, spreading it around, using the pass as an extension of the run while mixing in the run is a winning formula.

And where did I say defense isn't vital? Can't find that anywhere.

That is some extremely heavy rationalization supported by vagueness and your opinion. The stats do not show Drew's clear dominance in the areas you have mentioned, if anything there is no clear leader, if I removed the names and titled these QB A/B preseason stats you wouldn't be so unicorn milk over one of them.

Hill throws for longer completions and has a 10% higher conversion rate.

Season
Completion%
%71.6 Hill
%73.5 - Brees

Three game averages for both QBs
Touchdown Average Passing or rushing
6- Hill (4 rushing/2 passing)
7- Brees (7 passing)

Average Completed Air yards
6.6 Hill
4.9 Brees

Ave 1st downs
22 - Hill
22.3 - Brees

Drives ending without a score
7 - Hill
5.66 - Brees

Offensive 3rd down conversion rate
%44.19 Top 9 in the league - Last 3 games (Hill)
%33.33 Six lowest conversion rate in the league - Previous 3 games (Brees)

I wont answer your last question, you are just being silly. You can ride your painted pony but it doesn't make the Ferris wheel spin.

I never said Drew Brees was bad but a stats comparison vs going with the hot hand is not as clear for most as it is for you.

Don't forget that Hill also faced the league's 26th ranked defense (Falcons) two of the three games. And a team with no QB in the other.

Brees had five games against top 11 defenses in the NFL (Tampa Bay - twice, Packers, Chargers, 49er's) in his nine starts. Most of Brees' season also came without the luxury of having Michael Thomas. Two of those games he was also missing Emmanuel Sanders.

Taysom has done a commendable job, but I doubt any coach out there would consider using him as a starter when you have Brees available.
