That was my first thought too. I miss him. His death hit me hard. He was a very good man and communicator.

Re: The Saints are the 1st Team to get in the Playoffs
I want T. Hill to finish the regular season as the starting QB. The experience is invaluable moving forward. His extra zip on the ball is obvious and important in the NFL. It's also a necessity in any outdoor, bad weather games that may arise. Not to mention his leadership skills and his ability to make plays and change games with his legs. Plus, Brees may be healed, but there's no way he's healthy enough to play an NFL game.

Second, this team needs to win right now because we are loaded with talent and backups from top to bottom. In the next few years, contracts will come for renewal and draft picks will want more money and we'll be top heavy. Taysom has not proven any ability to run a 2 minute offense, lead the team back from 17 point deficit, and his passing skills are limited at best right now. Yesterday he threw his first NFL passing touchdown in 3 starts. He could have iced the game but the offense left points in the red zone on several drives. Taysom also has a fumbling problem this year that almost cost us yesterday and definitely cost us the Packers game. He's not 100% developed. It's a terrible time to continue to use Taysom like this is a "preseason". Too much at stake. As for Drew not being healthy comment - I don't know what to say. I read fans practically trying to run the guy off, but he's still a baller and a huge threat in the NFL. He had 11 fractured ribs and a collapsed lung and still threw for a touchdown. When he's ready to return, he will return as starter. It's just a fact. Having Taysom there is insurance for now and the future. |

Hill has exceeded expectations. At times, he's also shown his lack of experience.
When it comes playoff time, you want your veteran HOF'er running the offense. However, it can be argued Payton should have used Taysom more during the Minnesota playoff game last season. |
