If they scored 24 with no turnovers from the Saints I’d be a little more worried, but like I said before, the bulk of their yards came on one play. They weren’t getting all those yards on the ground from traditional run plays. It was QB scrambles outside of that one chunk play.

Sanders got 82 yards off one carry. He finished with 115 on 14 carries. The other 13 carries were 2.5 yards a carry. Again, I’m not concerned.
Not buying it Rez. Is the defense “trash”? Nope, not even close, it’s a very good defense, but it’s also a very good offense, and a very good special teams unit. On that Sunday, all three phases failed, including the defense. Your comment referring to 82 yards being the “bulk” of the run stats doesn’t fly. 246 yards allowed by the Saints from the opposing team, who and where it comes from is unimportant, an 6.8 yard average and that 82 yard run was only ⅓ of the total given up. There was another 164 yards allowed outside of that 82 yard TD run. Philly ran ALL over the vaunted Saints run defense. Two, count them TWO 100 yard rushers in the same game. And two of four 4th down conversions allowed, that should not be a 50/50 allowed stat, it just shouldn’t be. 0 of 4 is preferred, I think 1 of 4 would be an below average day. That’s 2 turnover on downs missed, it shouldn’t happen.

Offense failed

Defense failed

Special teams failed

If anyone if those groups stepped up, it would have been a win, but almost all the “game changers” went to Philly. I’m concerned for all three, yes, including defense. That being said, I’m more optimistic for the future of this team than I’ve been over the past three years.
