I do wish we run some sets with Trautman n Cook attacking the seams.

Re: Saints vs Chiefs Game Day Thread

IMO the Saints need to bring in a WR on tomorrow.

Jujuan J, Taysom (dropped a couple), Jordan Humphrey etc isn't gonna get it done in the post season.

Mike Thomas is a threat and chain mover. Sanders saw a lot of double coverage and I'm not sure what's up with Jared C. Didn't see his best effort today.

Thomas, Callaway, Harris are weapons and were missed vs the Champs.

Rell&Gold 12-20-2020 08:09 PM

And Deonte Harris was missed

And now Dalvin Cook on a short week.

I have no idea what the injury status is to Marcus Williams and 3quan Smith but do you call Stills or Earl Thomas ??

Losing key guys like that this time of year would sting.

From what I have heard there is a reason why nobody is signing Earl Thomas. The guy is a pure cancer. Hopefully getting some of our WR backups a real week of practice with the ones will help. And getting Cook's head out of his ass should help, too. It's been too many weeks since he's had to be out there with a thinking man's QB like Brees.

Should be fine but probably won’t play Thursday.

Haven’t heard anything about Tre’Quan. I’m perfectly fine with bringing back Stills.

Stills would be okay, he knows the system.

If you lose 2 more and the bucs win 2 more you could be traveling to a 7-9 NFC East team...shade of 2010

And if you meet up with Frodo you could be heading to Mount Doom in Mordor.

Geez.

Sean Payton, the HC calls a game to have 17 total rushing attempts against a 26th ranked rushing defense with a QB coming off a tough injury. KC allows 5 ypc @ 130 yards per game. That's poor rush defense.

No one said Payton sucks AG. Just poor game planning 2 weeks straight. Don't put words in my mouth.

We also didn't have that many pass attempts in total. I haven't seen the final numbers, but we didn't get behind by not running. We quickly got down by 14. Not sure what Murray's problem was but he didn't do anything on his attempts. KC was stacking the line against us challenging us to throw the ball, but how many drops did we have? Unreal.

We got outmanned two straight weeks. Last week their players played harder than ours. This week our players played great but were out manned in healthy talent. We came in hurt and lost players left and right again. Hard to stick to any plan without pieces in place.

spkb25 I see you've been here since 2004 about the same I got here. Looks like you have soured on the Saints big time. Sounds like you aren't a big Sean Payton Fan. I see your up the road in Baltimore was wondering if your pulling for the Ravens now can't imagine you having anything to do with the team in DC. I don't want to take you away from jousting with Guido but I just noticed
that you've been here a long time.

He was a devoted Saints fan until he claims Brees ruined his fandom by giving into the American black people. Soured him bad.

I don't actually reside in Baltimore anymore, but I think you're in Hagerstown if memory serves?

I was a huge fan for a long time. I dont watch anymore. Really have nothing to like about this team. Smells from top to bottom.

lot of good memories. Nothing will surpass Porter running free and me jumping up and down in my living room screaming we just won the F-ing SB. Really was an amazing feeling.

Now, cant stand the players or the coach. I enjoy qhen they lose and watching the latest SP collapse is hilarious. You can literally bet your house on the Saints looking the best team in the NFL until the last few weeks in the season when the collapse begins and they limp, yet again, into the playoffs only to lose early.

But I'm fairly certain this will be my last season posting here

Yeah. I still love the Saints. Just not a huge fan of how stupid things got prior to the season. I lost a lot of respect for Drew and for Sean prior to the season. So I get it. Saints are definitely not my priority like they used to be.

But I watch occasionally. Mostly watch the stats on a stat tracker.

I understand how you lost your love for NFL. Its definitely not like it used to be. I miss the good ol days of watching football, not politics and grandstanding. It just takes more booze to enjoy now. Which is sad.

Oh well. It is what it is. I definitely don't buy NFL gear anymore. Or wear it. Lol.

Re: Saints vs Chiefs Game Day Thread

Failure to call on the run was the biggest issue, again...

We only had as many run plays as we had as Drew checked out of the pass on at least three occasions according to Romo, who's the only legit NFL commentator today...

We were only really down one WR today, albeit the formerly, briefly, best WR in the NFL...

But where was Jared Cook? What was his issue with Brees? Where was Adam Trautman, whom we sunk all of our Day 3 picks in to acquire?

Why is Emmanuel Sanders still being underused? Is he still having problem adapting to Payton's offense? If so, that's on Sean...

Most of Brees' throws lacked zip - Keep hearing the myth that he dispelled critics with his bomb to Sanders, who once again had to slow down, come back to the ball, not hitting him in stride...

Don't think Brees has hit a WR in full stride in four seasons now; don't care if Brees can only throw the ball 30 air yards - hit the man in f*cking stride so he can score...

If the Saints don't find a way to re-sign an entering-his-prime DE Trey Hendrickson, then I really doubt the motivations and machinations of the Saints personnel decision-makers...

Cam Jordan has played like hot garbage all season; age has likely caught up with this former great as well; he should have been schooling yet another backup; instead frustration and a costly dumb*ss penalty...

If the rookie punter we redshirted is the goods, then it's time to move on from Morstead, who clearly is no longer elite with short, shallow punts compared to his former excellence...

And what's going on with Ty Montgomery? A healthy scratch? He was supposed to be lagniappe depth, and utility role player with great experience - another ghost?

Speaking of ghost, biggest FA disappointment on the offense is a toss-up between Jared Cook and Latavius Murray, but in Murray's case, he's underutilized and that's on Sean...

But Cook just looked like someone that had no confidence in Brees getting him the ball and acted like a pouty b*tch in front of a national audience with Brees trying to re-establish rapore...

Can't help but wonder that Brees has lost the confidence from this teammates and in himself; at the very least, there's a clear disconnect; Taysom looked like he inspired teammates more than Brees...

Injuries are an excuse, a BS excuse; this roster is deep enough to compete and what they did was self-destructed on several plays today and played to the opponents' strengths and away from their own, yet again...

And it starts with Sean and Drew looking in the mirror and asking the hard questions that Greg Bensel won't allowed to be asked in the press conferences...

ENTERTAINMENT: an event, performance, or activity designed to entertain others.
"a theatrical entertainment

"ISN'T THEATRICAL ENTERTAINMENT SCRIPTED"?

YOU KEEP FORGETTING "The NFL is one thing and one thing only ... entertainment. No more, no less. Letting it become any more than that is missing the boat."

WINS AND LOSSES DON'T MATTER. ALL THAT MATTERS IS YOUR SENSE OF ENTERTAINMENT. DON'T LIKE THEATER, DON'T GO.

THE INFAMOUS "NO CALL" IN THE NFCCG PROVED IT TO ME. THE NFL KNOWS WHO THEY WANT IN THE SUPER BOWL AND KNOWS HOW TO GET THEM THERE.

SAINTS STUMBLE INTO THE PLAYOFFS AS A WILD CARD AND GET KNOCKED OFF. AGAIN, BREES RETIRES.

Don't see it that way.

Brees shook off the rust in the 2nd half. He's not gonna have a letdown against the Vikes.

Enjoy your Christmas 🎄.

Brees was out for a month, not easy getting back in game action mode. But as you say the rust was shaking off in the 2nd half.
Not to mention he's looking at a field of Receivers he probably doesn't even recognize.
With MT out it could get challenging but I would call up Kenny Stills he knows our system.

Stills pissed off Payton so how. That's how he got shipped out. And honestly, we already have Malcolm Jenkins on the team and you saw the distraction he caused immediately upon arrival. I think Stills is the same way, which is why he doesn't have a job right now. His production isn't enough to have the distraction.

This team is in desperate need of leadership. not distractions and grandstanding.

Just my opinion.

This sums it up for me as well. It all started going downhill when Goodell chose to make an example out of the Saints for "Bounty Gate" when the concussion lawsuits began to ramp up.

No more "Jacked Up!" on ESPN. It's all pandering and SJW on these sports networks and ESPN is unwatchable with their focus on gender and skin color.

Pre injury vs Chiefs, he was playing extremely well on that back end. Hopefully we get him back fresh for the playoffs.

+1. I asked this question a few weeks ago on Ty.

A healthy vet … inactive against the champs? Instead we roll out Jordan Humphrey & rookie Juwan Johnson.

No confidence in his ability with special teams and/or offense? We really could have used a spark on 3rd down.

Wow.
