Sacks aren't the only stat that defines a good DE. Y'all are really under evaluating what Davenport is doing on the field. Yes, it may have looked like he lost containment on one play but that play was an option so their should have been a LB or safety playing coverage on the player receiving the option. Davenport was in between Mahomes and Bell and actually turned Mahomes inside which was correct but Mahomes then optioned to Bell. Someone else missed their assignment and Davenport was stuck on which player he needed to defend but he technically played it correct just needed help and it looked like PJ was late in coming over.

Our defense completely turned around when we finally got Davenport playing. Trey is a speed rusher but definitely struggles setting the edge against the run. Hopefully we can figure out a way to bring him back though. I really starting to like Granderson as well.

IMO, when healthy, there isn’t another D line In the league that can match the Saints and it isn’t close. Most of the “backups” would start for other Teams.
