Do we rest up next week?
Depending on what happens Sunday do we sit most of our starters against Carolina? We are beat to **** and they can use the rest. I’d like to see Brees and Taysom sit and let Winston take a crack at it with some of our younger receivers. I would like to see what Baun, Troutman, and a few others can do with more playing time.
I could see Payton going all out so he can say he swept the division and put Kamara in to block on the last play of the game in garbage time. |
Re: Do we rest up next week?
We definitely should.
I'd like to see Jameis start the game, Dwayne Washington at RB, Austin Carr WR etc |
Re: Do we rest up next week?
The way Drew’s been playing he needs all the reps he can get

Re: Do we rest up next week?
No. Not so long as the No. 1 seed is on the table...

Re: Do we rest up next week?
Nope.
What if the Seahawks defeat the Rams, win next week & GB defeat the Titans & we lose @ Carolina? We could drop out of the #2 seed. Best case for getting back the #1 seed & a bye : 1. Packers defeat the Titans then lose to the Bears (it could happen) next week. 2. Seahawks win the last 2 games = Saints defeat the Panthers … #1 seed is ours again. Listening at Sean P presser a little while ago, it doesn't sound as if he's resting anyone next week. |
Re: Do we rest up next week?
Seed 2 vs 3 could still be at play. If so, then no resting.
Plus they could be the first NFC south team to ever sweep the division. Kick ass!! |
Re: Do we rest up next week?
Blow out the Panthers in the first half, then start resting players.

The difference between #2 and #3 is twofold and both important. First is that the #3 seed is likely to play the Succs. So, the Saints would have to take them on for a 3rd time. The other is that in the divisional round it'll require a long trip to either LA or Seattle instead of them travelling to the SuperDome presuming that #2 and #3 win the first week. The Saints should fight for the best seed they can get. And unless it's a Pack win and a Hawks loss this week, with #1 still available, you play everyone next week until the game is our of reach. Then scoreboard watch to see it's the #1 seed or the #2 seed, as a win next week I believe guarantees one or the other no matter what happens in any other game. SFIAH |

BTW the most straightforward path the #1 for the Saints is the Pack losing to the Titans and the Bears and the Saints winning next week. Then it doesn't matter what Seattle or LA Rams do in their last two games. SFIAH |
Re: Do we rest up next week?
Gotcha.
Titans defense is meh but the Bears could beat GB. Go Titans and Bears ! |
Re: Do we rest up next week?
The 2 and 3 seed are not the same this year. 2 seed gets the easiest first game at home and is also guaranteed a second home game. The 2 seed wouldn’t have to travel unless playing the 1 seed and that would only occur in the championship game.

Nagy is as bad as Sean when it comes to pass-happy play calling... IF Sean would've run more, we'd exposed the Packers sooner and likely have beaten 'em... If Nagy will pound the Pack with Montgomery, and let that defense stay fresh and get after Rodgers, it is very possible the Bears can beat the Packers... And even if they don't win, using the run and defend approach, they beat the crap out of Rodgers just before playoffs... Don't give Rodgers an easy out, Bears, run and pound... |
Re: Do we rest up next week?
In a word, NO!

Re: Do we rest up next week?
Kamara needs 68 yards to hit 1,000 and I want to see him get it.

Re: Do we rest up next week?
Get up on the Panties early then start pulling players selectively for the rest of the game. It wouldn't hurt to have film on our back ups and a little rest for the starters after getting warmed up in the first half developing a substantial lead.
