Did Saints Sandwich Hit Injure Mahomes?
 

Last week when the Chiefs hit Brees with a helmet to the ribs I hoped our D would answer back to show we can’t be targeted without repercussions. Sure enough a drive or two later our D put Mahomes in a sandwich with a hard hit to the ribs and he grimaced getting up. Mahomes shook off the hit and performed well, but it seemed like the type of blow that could fracture a rib or two and hurt more in the days and weeks later as it swells up. So now this week Mahomes puts up 17 points on the Falcons D, with his worst QB rating of the season. I wonder if Mahomes was playing hurt? I hope if other teams hit Brees in the ribs they know we can hit their QB harder. If they want to tackle Brees they can try, but if they go for the ribs we have Jordan, Hendrickson, etc who can do the same.

Well he threw it 44 times with a lot of zip vs Atlanta so I'd say Patrick is ok.

Atlanta's defense played well though. If Terrell snags that ball in the end zone late, they defeat the mighty Chiefs. Sure didn't help matters when normally automatic Koo sliced it right to send em into OT.

But yeah, Mahommes looks fine to me.

Yeah tough kid, he was a little slow getting up after the Sandwich Hit but it didn't seem to slow him down.

I'm actually glad that he's not hurt. I like the young man. However, if you try to hurt my QB then you need to go ahead and call the ambulance for the dirty player just in case.....:wink:

Hate for anyone to get hurt but after that hit he looked like he was ready to go home. He’s tough and did what he had to do but you could tell he wasn’t right. Don’t think he’s felt a hit like that yet in his career.

Brutal hit. I like Granderson. If he improves for year 3 as he did in year 2, he's going to be a force.
