Sean Payton and Aaron Rodgers on new Saints WR Jake Kumerow

Quietly, the New Orleans Saints signed veteran wide receiver Jake Kumerow after the Buffalo Bills placed him on waivers this weekend. Claiming him off of waivers could be a late-season significant move for New Orleans.

We know who filled Kwon Alexander's roster spot.

Supposedly politics played a major role in Kumerow's leaving Green Bay. KC picked him up but they are stacked with Receivers and tried to hide him on their practice squad.

Article:
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Aaron Rodgers' loss in Green Bay is the Bills' gain after Buffalo signed receiver Jake Kumerow to its practice squad on Tuesday, three days after he was cut by the Packers.

The Packers' decision to cut Kumerow was considered one of their biggest surprises in establishing their 53-player roster on Saturday. And it came on the heels of Rodgers calling Kumerow “super reliable” while discussing Green Bay’s receivers.

Just hand or throw the ball to Kamara. :)

We don’t need receivers. We’ve played without them for 3 weeks.

See Saints vs Vikings wildcard game 2020. Our #2 and #3 WR's couldn't catch a cold.

The playoffs are a completely different animal.

Kyle Mosley saying Jake Kumerow compares to Jordy Nelson - smh...

Only comparison is that they're both white boys playing WR in the NFL, there nothing alike Karen, I mean Kyle...smh

Saints fans watching his film on YouTube will recognize him as a white Marques Colston because of his consistent route running, reliable hands, adequate speed, generous catch radius, and his size...

Footage looks a lot like Marques Colston...

These are the type of moves that keep this team in contention year in and year out. Another solid signing by the FO.

Why has he bounced around the league for four years?

Marques Colston 2.0. Marques Colston probably would have bounced around because most OCs lack the vision to use his unique skill-set to gain matchup advantages...

Kumerow isn't going to wow you coming off the line with suddenness as Sean refers, but he's got requisite straight-line NFL speed, and the size to lean over smaller DBs in a mismatch and move the sticks...

Jake transferred from Illinois to Wisconsin-Whitewater, DIV III football, so his development was stunted; his Bengals WR coach was James Urban, the only time Urban has been a WR coach, so not a lot of work there...

Jake's also been on IR twice (the traditional IR); so that's also stunted his growth; and it really wasn't until he went to GB that he got to play with a good QB; GB went low and Jake and agent overplayed market...

He ended up in BUF, and the Saints caught BUF trying to save money and that's how we got him...

Jake is wicked smart, grew up in a football family, so he grew up watching film on Sundays with his NFL Dad; Joey and Nick Bosa are his first cousins...

I've been real big on his since the 2015 draft; but don't be surprised if he has a renaissance here in NO as his skill-set is very comparable to Marques Colston...

Speaking of WR's …

I heard Nick U say that 3quan is still recovering (ankle) from surgery ?? Does that mean no post season for him?

Exactly, and then there's recovery of conditioning...

We've likely seen the last days of Tre'Quan in the black and gold...

I'm really excited having WRx Jake Kumerow and WRz Emmanuel Sanders on the outside and WRs Mike Thomas doing his usual, unstoppable damage in the slot...

And bringing in Deonte Harris as a change of pace...

I'd say Callaway instead of Kumerow, the guy is proving to be something special.

Callaway is getting forced-fed, which I actually like seeing rookies thrown in right away vs development...

Jake is a better outside option now, because of experience, so that's my reasoning...

Callaway, staying on his tract, should be a Saint for a number of years, so we're definitely in agreement there...

Bingo.

We torched regular season teams with Kamara and Mike T for years, only for them to get schemed against in the playoffs.

We need Sanders, Callaway, Trautman and Cook to be on their game, because Teams will scheme against Kamara and Thomas again.

Yep. There's a reason those teams are in the playoffs as well...

It's the Belichick Theorem - Take away what your opponent likes to do most...

Kumerow, Callaway, and Trautman are going to give us a very inexpensive talented receiving core for the next four years at least.
