If we have someone that we like to replace him then I'm ok with that.

Can we agree interviewing coaches of playoff teams DURING playoff weeks is a bad idea?

I am curious, for whom?

I think the worry is distracting that coach from fully concentrating on preparing his current team for the next game.

Problem for some coaches, if they are perennially in the playoffs, it may be the only time they get a seat at the table (interview).

Here are the new interview rules this year.

New rules starting the day after the regular season ends (January 4)

In-person interviews may begin for GM or head coach positions of candidates who are either not employed by an NFL team or are with a team that is not in the postseason.

Virtual interviews of head coaching candidates can begin of coaches who have a bye in the postseason. These requests cannot be denied.

Virtual interviews for high-level jobs (like GM) can begin of any candidate.

Those requests cannot be denied. If the candidate’s team is eliminated from the playoffs, in-person interviews may begin. Those requests cannot be denied, either.

New rules after Wild Card playoff weekend (January 10-11)

For a week, virtual interviews of coaching candidates on teams that won their first playoff game may proceed.

New rules after the divisional round of playoffs (January 18-24)

Interviews with coaches still in the playoffs are prohibited until the next round of the playoffs concludes (January 25).

New rules after the conference championship game (January 25)

Teams may interview coaches who will participate in the Super Bowl for a week leading up to the Sunday prior to the Super Bowl (January 31).

_____________________________________________

As you can see all interviews are virtual in a week where the interviewee is in a game week. It really takes no time away from preparation. There are 24 hours in a day and they always have some free personal time to schedule a zoom interview.

That doesn't take 24 hours a day every day.

Why did Hurst have to replace Ruiz?

You're right. We need a shower and sleep too. But it's the playoffs and we had better seriously focus on it.

A interview takes an hour and these days it is not face to face. While the team needs to be in 'game face' come Sunday, we are in the 19th week of the season, these are professionals, and this is the 3rd time we play this team this season.

I would hope that there isn't much left to be learned or said at this point besides "do your phucking job".

If the media didn't advertise and Dan didn't tell the team, i doubt very seriously they would have known or noticed.

Of course I could be wrong but since its common practice, that's less likely. :bng:

When? Ruiz played 100% of the snaps last week.
