Seapigeons aware of Ivory

Monday Metatarsal Musings

I think 'ole Pete Carroll is just a little bit worried...

cajun911 01-03-2011 07:06 PM

I just hope Ivory can make it the whole game. If so, we got this.

At the moment I hope he can actually start.

Bizarrely, the Saints have an issue of RBs starting and not finishing games over the last few weeks.

Seems the fact is we have a generally unable to FULLY participate Saints team on Offense / Defense/ Special Teams going in to the playoffs. A long hard slog and no gimmes this trip

spkb25 01-03-2011 07:47 PM

Doesn't sound to me like he'll be playing. sucks

saintsfan1976 01-03-2011 07:47 PM

It's all about the matchups.

And this offense is very capable of running the football – especially when our RB’s are healthy. BUT how many games have we had that this year???

It’s the Saints defense who benefits most from quick leads. Without them, our D line can be exposed by the run game.

So, in the last meeting, Drew threw to 5 different receivers for over 20yds per catch and 4 TD’s. Tell me why, exactly we need to run the ball vs. Seattle so badly??

We've got so many weapons to prepare for it might just be easier for Pete Carroll to get a good night's sleep so he looks good at the press conference giving his concession speech. Getting to the playoffs is one thing.......playing a motivated Saints team is quite another thing.

You make valid points. But a threat of a running game opens the passing game. We could have issues on passing - Colston and Graham and Shockey likely not 100% fit and Thomas (D) definitely not. Henderson has caught nada the last 2 games. We tend to give away some 3 penalties on offense and 1 interception per game.

WE didnt win the playoffs with Ivory. We won it with PT and Bush, Bell tanked. Let them think were wounded.

I understand what a good running game does, but why do we need it vs Seattle. Drew torched them except for two baaaad throws.

Reggie will carry the load bc the Seahawks' "run D" is an "F"!!

pherein 01-03-2011 08:20 PM

hel most teams only have one good runner, we have 4. Bush,Evans,PT, and Ivory.

|Mitch| 01-03-2011 08:21 PM

'Hawks have the 21st ranked rush defense and the 27th ranked pass defense...

WhoDat!656 01-03-2011 08:21 PM

The weather conditions may not be favorable for a lot of passing.

Showers. High of 46. Run Reggie, Ruuuun!!!

pherein 01-03-2011 08:31 PM

When I was a RB, the worse the weather the better the running. RB's have a huge advantage over anyone on the field in bad conditions. They are way more sure footed to begin with. sweep plays are sweet in rain, mud, and snow. The DL cant get there and LB's are slow to react. WR and CB's suffer the most.
Timing get thrown off, leaving the QB waiting.

i'm not worried about the running, last nights game seattle had one thing to defend ,it was steven jackson. they were'nt threatened by the rookie qb at all. let them not worry bout drew brees.

Put Thomas (the TE) in the FB slot and let Evans carry the rock behind him.

Quote:

One week later, the New England Patriots signed Evans for the remainder of the 2005 season. On November 16, he filled in for an injured Corey Dillon at tailback against his former team and rushed for 84 yards on 17 carries and caught 3 passes for 18 yards, subsequently leading the Patriots to victory.

Saintswrath 01-04-2011 05:21 AM

The latest signing is either serious smoke screen or a sign we're going to be in the air whether we want to or not.
