Derek Cox will be signed but he won't be the biggest fa secondary signing.

Re: Corner Help!

He gets hurt a lot.

Will fit in with the rest of our CBs.

Just wondering, was Ryan the DC when the Raiders had Nmandi Asomugua?

I'm just wondering!;)

Well that seems promising.... maybe he could be like Greer was when we picked him up..

Re: Corner Help!

He was born in Lafayette, so this move would probably make alot of sense at this point in his career.

Rob Ryan said this about him Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said "The guy is truly unbelievable. He made himself the best corner in football by his work ethic, the way he studies tape, and he's so smart." and this was said in 2009.

Here's another comment about him and Ryan;

I still feel that Nnamdi will end up in New Orleans.

Rob Ryan knew how to let Aso play in Oakland. Rob Ryan wanted Aso to come play in Dallas. Rob Ryan now badly needs secondary help in New Orleans.

Ryan loves Nnamdi and Coach will do what he can to let Ryan have him.

Your completely rational conjecture is toying with my emotions!!!!!!!!!

Oh goodness... Lookey here... It turns out that he did indeed play for Rob Ryan all 5 years Ryan was there. And he was considered the best CB in all of football.

Hmmm.

The daily misspelling of his name on here would be entertaining enough to warrant the signing ;)

It just makes alot of sense. We'll get a good one at CB if not Nmandi. We need some veterans back there and maybe a surprise at safety. I think we fill the defensive line from the draft. Not much out there right now with the exception of that frenchie from the 9ers. He would be a good start at NT or another DE. I don't see Smith starting but he would be a helluva backup.

Danno 03-12-2013 08:33 PM

Re: Corner Help!

I'll bet Nmandi would love to be re-united with Ryan, and love to play for a contender, and love to be back in a system better suited for his skillset.

My guess is we're probably top 3 on his list of teams he'd like to play for.

Aqib Talib, Chris Houston or Keenan Lewis can we bring in one of these guys for a visit please and then maybe next year we can cut Greer because he's starting to slip to.

I honestly don't know more about him than just reading that article. He sounds like an interesting prospect but the injuries kinda scares med. Good size thou.

FinSaint 03-13-2013 04:23 AM

Re: Saints interested in CB Derek Cox

I do like his size as the Saints are in need of bigger corners, and he is still a young player at 26.

The injury history is a concern, but it could all be down to just bad luck on his behalf - if it's something more serious, the medical test should pick that up.

He also had a pretty good 40yd time of 4.39 on his College Pro Day, so he does have some speed to go with that size - if the injuries haven't slowed him down.

Re: Saints interested in CB Derek Cox

This guy has potential to be a stud CB in this league if he can stay healthy. His speed and size are ideal for a CB. Hope we can get this guy!

I would prefer them to sign Cox just for humor's sake. What kind of perverted organization would this be with Bush and Cox patrolling in the secondary? It would almost be a shame that we won't have Bushrod anymore, either.

Sean Payton knows that a good corner is the back bone of a defense. He's attacked a lot of them in his time as QB and coach..

Re: Saints to host Jaguars CB Derek Cox on Thursday

Interesting that many of us were yelling for new blood on the front seven and instead it's a bunch of DBs coming for visits. I'm thinking if we land a couple of these guys then there'll be a strong focus on both lines in the draft. Rugby, I still say it's the D Line that's the backbone, but I'm hopin' we'll both be grinnin' when all's said and done.
