Haynesworth and Johnson were past their primes and full-of-themselves. Belichick has more to work with in Tebow, he's young, can be molded and isn't a self-absorbed a$$hole like the other two. He'll take instruction.

15 Division championships, 7 Conference championships, 3 Super Bowls, 19 playoff appearances ... it isn't hype, they're the real deal and a winning organization. If anyone can do anything with Tebow and not be distracted by the baggage he brings along, it would be Belichick and the Patriots. Tebow's not bigger than the team in New England.

as bad as that reading that is, it's so true. That about sums it up. Good point Slo-Mo. Tebow not being bigger than team is exactly why he will work there in whatever role he plays.

And Tebow wants to get better, definitely a team player.

Tebow Contract: 2 years, no guarantee, no bonus.

http://tracking.si.com/2013/06/11/ti...teed-patriots/

In my opinion that says a lot.

they don't have a prayer.

"Tebow's not bigger than the team in New England."

I seem to recall the Saints dominating the Patriots on their way to that super bowl win. We have their number. Teepro doesn't change that reality. They ain't got a prayer with or without that preachy alter boy. As much as he prays, you'd think he'd have a ring already. Guess the success ratio of prayer isn't all that it is cracked up to be.

A yuppie brat won't help the patty cakes. Par for the course, however.

Tim Tebow’s contract with Patriots is for two years, nothing*guaranteed | SI Wire

In my opinion that says a lot.

Absolutely right ... they see enough in him to take a chance, but not enough in him to make a commitment. It's make-or-break time for young Tebow.

Duly noted and the '09 season/people's religious affiliations aside, the topic of the thread is merely speculation on Tebow's signing with the Pats. Whether or not he'll have an impact on the team, and specifically vs the Saints, remains to be seen and will probably be a good topic for another thread, some day.

<sigh> ... I'm talking about Tim Tebow ... it is truly the "offseason",.

Which is why I take the under. Belichick has found a cheap project, if it fails.... no loss.... If it succeeds well he will be known as the man that did what no other could. The contract tells me even Belichick doesn't have more than a 50/50 expectation if success.

I find it hard to believe you would say this considering you seem to be a fan of a show that has Christian morals.

Re: Patriots sign Tim Tebow

This is one of the best signings this week that could happen to me. Just in case we don't go back next year, at least there's a team that can now beat Atlanta. I started feeling that Manning is a puppet by Elway and it would cause him to lose again, even to Atlanta because Gonzo had a bigger reason to win than Manning. Now New England will be the first underdog to unravel Denver. I know this is a wierd way of studying football but its how recent championships are won. The last four, even the saints in 09, have been underdogs. The steelers were the only ones who weren't in the last eight years. Thats because that was the year they chased history that was deserving given their length of playoff relevance.
