Patriots sign Tim Tebow

Patriots signed QB Tim Tebow, formerly of the Jets.

To clear roster space, they waived Mike Kafka, paving the way for Tebow to win New England's third-string quarterback job behind Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett. Tebow will be at Patriots minicamp on Tuesday. The connection is obvious; OC Josh McDaniels traded up for Tebow at the 25th overall pick while running the Broncos' football operations in 2010. We're assuming Tebow will primarily play quarterback, but he could also be tried at H-back or tight end while Rob Gronkowski (arm, back) rehabs. Of course, we won't hold our breath for McDaniels and Bill Belichick to reveal their specific plans.

You know, Im a fan of Tebow, but I was starting to believe his
detractors. But if the PATRIOTS got him, there must be something
to him.

Well, no one questioned his athletic ability, just his ability to be an NFL quarterback. Just heard about this on sportstalk & they said something about Belichek possibly converting him to tight-end. Very possible, IMO. Why would he agree to play anything other then QB in Denver or NY? Now he's on one of the premier teams in the league and he'll buy into whatever Belichek wants him to do "for the team".

I think it's a good move on NE's part. Tebow is an athlete and a team player, they'll find a way for him to make a contribution.
