Atlanta Falcons hurting bad

I do not wish injuries on any team, but if they must happen it is far more acceptable if it happens to the Falcons.

The Falcons lost starting DE/LB Kroy Beirmann and starting FB Bradie Ewing to season ending IR this week. They also placed starting LB Sean Weatherspoon on IR - Designated to Return meaning he is out for at least nine weeks. Starting RB Steven Jackson is also now expected to miss 2-4 weeks with a thigh injury. Roddy White is dealing with a high ankle sprain and will be a much less than 100% for the next several weeks.

Now is the time to take advantage of this situation. It is likely the Falcons will drop a unexpected game over the next few weeks so the Saints need to keep winning to build a large lead in the standings.

The Buccaneers in week 7 & 11 will not be easy either... Especially if their O-Line is still struggling

Makes sweeping the Falcons a whole lot easier. Tampa bay comes to us for a possible second sweep in the dome. Split with Carolina and we are 5-1 in the division.

Miami looks good. If we played them next week they would probably beat us too.

Yeah they did but those wins came against the Browns and a very young Colts team. Atlanta will be their first true test of the year.

Well if Atlanta is "good" then San Francisco is great.. What does that make Seattle? Unmuthafrikkenbelieveable? Unmuthafrikkenstopable? We should just not even play that game.

If the team we saw against Tampa was to play Miami next week, yes then we would probably lose.

Wait you mean the team that pulled off a late 4th quarter win, yeah I'd hate for a team that woke up after playing like garbage all day but still found a way to win show up next week, jeez someone remind me the Saints are 2-0 right? I must of thought different for a second

The falcons signed Omar Gaither today. He's the favorte to fill in for Sean Weatherspoon.

Gaither has not played a full season since 2008.

Everyone is hurting. This will just give Clown fans a reason to explain why their team will suck so reallllllly bad this year.

Aw man that's awful. Bierman is a hell of a football player. I know he's a Falcon but I hope he comes back strong as ever. And the other guy too.

Even Stephen...most teams have many injuries along the way, as this is a game of attrition...we are obviously no exception. Those who have depth and are mentally strong overcome these injuries. We have filled the infirmary already, but we also got folks stepping up to this challenge (2-0 in the division and overall, anyone?).

Some of those picks the Failcons gave up for Julio might have been ready to fill in the holes right about now. Not that I mind.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of it that way.

How many players did they give up for a beast wide receiver? They're signing guys off the street now.

And some of the money we gave up for Brees could have been used to shore up the O-line, D-ine and LB too.

It works both ways.

I've always thought that a lot of ATL's success comes from some luck of having a healthy squad. That's why we are contenders. We always find a way to navigate through injury issues.

I'm hoping this hurts falcons and causes them to lose one or two nfc games .. SJX should be back come next time we play them.

Atlanta has been uncommonly lucky the last couple of seasons. I use to look at their injury report and they never seemed to get hurt, at least not critical players. I honestly don't think they have the ability to recover like the Saints and pre season showed it.

It's Saints related because the Falcons suffering makes it so.

Brees means FAR, FAR more to our success than Julio does to theirs.
