Voter ID
Much talk out there about Voter ID.
Can you believe this is one thing , one thing New Orleans has right and you know , if New Orleans has something right , then that is really big, LOL!!!!! If NO has it right, then every state should have been doing this. I did not know this was not done. Everyone should have a state ID card from their state in order to vote. Drivers' Lic or State ID card. Plain and simple. Shows your face, name, address. I registered to vote at 18 in 1982 and voted then in New Orleans. The poll people would take your lic. Verify the address and name. Check you off the list. Make you sign your name. Another poll worker would second it. Then you had your Voter's registration card to bring. Shows your precint. Your name. Date of registering. To me, this is no biggie. Vote. Get your DL or State ID card. No DL or State ID, then don't vote. Having a state picture ID is not voter supression against anybody: Fat, thin, straight, gay, Black, White, Bi-racial, Mulit-racial, transgender, Japanese, nymphmanic, asexual, whatever. LOL! You need and use a picture ID for anything and everything else. Airport. Bank. Work. Application for anything. |
Re: Voter ID
As common sense as this is and as you accurately cite this, it is rather interesting that it is seemingly only the Democrats and their handlers fighting voter ID laws around the country.

Re: Voter ID
Yeah. I'm down with this too. Of course Obama is suing some place or other in Ohio for changing their rules. Pennsylvania and Florida and Texas are other hot spots.
Here's the rub: It's all about timing. When something like this comes up, one party or the other (although in this case the Democrats make the most noise about it) starts screaming about how you can't change the rules this close to an election. Well, we're ALWAYS going to be close to some election or the other. Get it done already. People gave their damn lives for our right to vote, and we should protect that process at all costs. If you cannot establish who you are and your credentials for voting based on where you reside, then you don't vote. Period. But, as usual, leave it to the academics to eff it up. This is the kinda crap that makes my blood boil. C'mon Washington. This is a no-brainer. Lose the agendas long enough to fix this otherwise 'easy-to-fix' issue. Re: Voter ID
If you think voters need to show their ID's, you are a racist.

You see it as a tactic. Maybe it is. At the end of the day the point I'm making is true. ANY person voting in this country should be able to establish their qualifications to do so for the very reasons you suggest. Being 'elderly', 'poor', or a 'student' is irrelevant. That's just silly in my humble opinion. My grandparents and for that matter their parents had ID. There were people who were born in the late 1800s! I know plenty of the poor and tons of students who can properly identify themselves too. I'm sorry man. That just doesn't wash. And yes, if you haven't heard the racist argument then I believe it is you who are being disingenuous. If you want Obama to win, fine. Don't rely on illegal aliens to stuff the ballot box. |
