Barack Obama has weighed in on reports about tension between new “American Idol” judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey.

Obama called into Miami’s radio program “The Michael Yo! Show,” and the host asked the leader of the free world “Can you repair the relationship with Mariah Carey and Nikki Minaj on ‘American Idol’?”

“I think that they are going to be able to sort it out, I am confident,” the president said. “I’m all about bringing people together, working for the same cause, so I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they’re moving forward and not going backwards.”

He added that Carey had “done some events for us” and that although he didn’t know Minaj “I’ve got her on my iPad.”

On a more serious note, Obama talked about his first debate with Mitt Romney and said “On television what was clear is that I was being too restrained when Mr. Romney was telling his tall tales. The truth is when you read the transcript everything I said was true and a lot of what he said was not. The underlying fundamentals of this race haven’t changed.”

I think America is much better off if Obama directs all of his attention to these kinds of matters.

You'd think he has better things to do, but I'm sure he's trying to appeal to the idiots who actually care about the relationship of those two. Those people sadden me more than the current economy.

I found his "I'm all about bringing people together" comment offensive however, since I'm not sure I can remember a time when America was more divided, and Barak Obama seems to be more about driving wedges than building bridges.
