Comedian Bill Maher may have bit off more than he can chew with a challenge he issued to Donald Trump.
On Monday night’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Maher mocked Trump’s offer to President Barack Obama prior to the November election to release his birth certificate in exchange for $5 million donated to the charity of the President’s choice.



Maher, probably jokingly, offered to donate $5 million to the charity of Trump’s choice if he would release his own birth certificate to prove The Donald was not the “spawn of his mother having sex with orangutan…”
But the “Celebrity Apprentice” star set out to have the last laugh. In a letter, obtained by Yahoo, Trump’s lawyer responds to Maher’s offer with a copy of Trump’s certificate and instructions for money promised.



“Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump's birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan. Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”
Maher said on the show that he was “not looking for a feud with Donald Trump.”
Well then, Bill may just have to pay up.

DONALD TRUMP TO BILL MAHER: COUGH UP THE $5 MILLION YOU OWE ME OR I’LL SUE YOU

Donald Trump wants the $5 million that HBO host Bill Maher promised to pay him if he could prove he was not the “spawn” of his mother having sexual relations with an orangutan. And if Maher doesn’t pay up, Trump said he will “probably sue him.”

Earlier this week Maher jokingly made the $5 million offer on “The Tonight Show,” saying he would give the money to a charity of Trump’s choice if he could prove he did not come from an orangutan. It was a knock on Trump’s previous offer to President Obama, in which he offered the president $5 million to a charity of his choice if he released his college and passport records.

And one day later, Trump released his birth certificate and called on Maher to honor the offer. The fact that Maher was obviously joking doesn’t seem to matter to the real estate tycoon.

“He made an absolute offer, I made an absolute acceptance. I sent him documentation and he owes me $5 million, which I’m going to give to charity. Let’s see what happens, and if he doesn’t pay the money we will probably sue him.” Trump told Extra’s A.J. Calloway.

“You are going to sue him?” Calloway asked.

“I think so. I mean, he made an offer, we accepted the offer. I’d probably sue him,” Trump replied.

I like Bill Mahr. He is a comic. He is funny. Sometimes he has good points by way of comedy.
He slams either party. He has slammed Obama , mericfulless, just awful on things if that you makes happy. I saw the show.
Joke is a joke and if either party, entertainer, politican does something funny , senseless, he talks about it. Same as other comics.
back to subject. One multimillionaire, Trump, has called the other multimillionaire , Mahr, out about this bet.
Mahr does not hundreds of millions of dollars like Trymp, but Mahr can afford to pay off 5 million dollar bet. Trump calling Mahr out could be doing Marh a great, huge, super favor. Let them raise a glass and toaste each other on the bet when they met up in their circle of events in their world as I am trying to see, well, what can I do without so I can pay taxes and I have to pay cash for some doctor's appts. I had this month. You too are like me and we are not like Billy and Donny there.
Mahr can use this bet and pay it and get a huge, gigantic tax write off .
It might take him two years to use that as a tax write off.
Good for him. Trump and Mahr can both celebrate on their nice duty here in a gentlemen's bet to some charities. Really feel good about themselves as they live in a wrold far away from us and are surrounded by security people with guns. I am not against those money. Both men earned their money by working hard and both employ many people in their resepctive companies. Trump World and Bill Mahr Show/Entertainmnet, whatever.
Meanwhile, it is a that time of the year for me, you. Tax day.
Oh boy. Do you file an extension? Paying that little bit of money over the year to your church, or buying work supplies, eehhh, won't cut it for deductions.
What I am saying is Bill Mahr and Trump and Mahr 's bet or bill has nothing to do with me nor you. Neither of us rejoice for Trump or knock Mahr or knock Trump or rejoice for Mahr.

Publicity stunts for Donald Trump are nothing new — but this one is just weird. Trump says he’s suing Bill Maher, claiming the acerbic comic failed to make good on a public bet. Last month, Maher told Jay Leno he’d give $5 million to Trump’s charity of choice if the businessman could prove he’s not “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.” Trump sent his birth certificate listing Fred Trump as his father — and now wants Maher to pay up. “He promised me $5 million for charity if I provided certain information,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” Monday. “Well, I provided the information. He didn’t pay. So today I sue Bill Maher for $5 million for charity.” The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday; Trump’s lawyer didn’t return our call.
