I am extremely pro Sammy. The main problem with him is that he is slow; this reduces our number of coverage options. With McKenzie here that may not be as big a problem. However, once teams figured out they could go over Sammy's head, he became much less threatening to teams. I'd be happy to see him return as a "Oldham" style safety - vetran leadership and only a dime safety.
As for Bullocks, the kid wasn't projected to start this year. He came in, and while I agree he made some rookie mistakes, he looked pretty good to me. He gives us way more coverage options. In cover three, we could choose which guys to drop, rather than having it decided for us. Also, it allows the corners to gamble more in cover two, with a fast guy back there. Bullocks is the future of our SS position (though I suspect it will be a LS position instead).
