OK fellas.... and Diva

The pool of guys we should be interested in is thinning out. Here are some of those guys.

1. Ryan Longwell--K--signed with the Vikings

2. Maake Kemoeatu--DT--signed with the Panthers, I HATE that we have to try and run against this guy twice next season.

3. Justin Hartwig--C--signed with the Panthers. A quality young starter at center going to a division rival. This stings.

4. Chris Hovan--DT--re-signed with the Bucs. Not a top 10 target for me, but he did play well for Gruden last year.

There are still some quality guys out there though, let's hope we don't get so bogged down on Brees that we miss out on some really quality FA's.

1. Bart Scott--MLB--re-signed with the Ravens. 6.5 million in guaranteed money.

2. Will Witherspoon--OLB--signed with the Rams. Big money deal.

2 very important LB's gone. I hope we at least talk to Arrington, but last I heard he was visiting the Giants.

We may be in another Saint fan off-season cycle.

1. I hope we can land __________ in FA this year. We need to address the __________ position really bad and have money to make a big splash.

2. So we didn't sign a __________ in FA, we're being smart with our money. Besides, we are perfectly poised to land an elite ____________ by drafting ___________ in the draft.

3. So we didn't draft ____________ or even a guy at the _____________ position in the draft. ___________ will probably be in the June 1 cuts and we should be poised to strike. We have huge money under the cap.

4. Ok, so we didn't pick __________ up after June 1. I'm sure that we're fine at the ___________ position with the guys we already have.

5. Then we wonder why we aren't competative at the ___________ position and why we have to win the last _____________ of __________ games to even sniff the playoffs.

Let's hope we do something in free agency fellas.

1. Sam Madison--CB--NY Giants. not a big priority to me, but still a quality player at a position of need gone.

And a few more. It's beginning to look like we're sitting on our hands through early free agency.

1. David Thornton--LB--signed by the Titans. Not my first choice, but a position of need and the Titans gave him a good deal.

2. Damione Lewis--DT--signed by the Panthers. The Panthers D-line is getting more solid by the minute this offseason. They are going to be solid contenders for the division title next season.

3. Ted Washington--DT--signed by the Browns. The Browns are really trying to improve through free agency. At some point, Washington has to break down, but it is a position of need for us.

Many more signings at these positions and we'll look like we're standing still.
Now I guess I have to start hoping we can land Rocky Bernard and Brees.

Another couple at need positions. I'm pleased with Fujita, but not elated.

1. Akin Ayodele--LB--signed by the Cowboys. This one hurts almost as bad as Witherspoon.

2. Andre Carter--LB--signed by the Redskins. The field is really thinning out.

We aren't going to have a lot of options left before long. I absolutely LOATHE putting so much pressure on the draft.
