i wonder if brees is using us

i wonder if he knows the money he wants but also understands it may be a little less. so what does he do, go to new orleans , act like he is going to sign with us because we are offereing the most money, then turn around and sign with the dolphins for a little less. i wonder as we have signed noone. all reports are we have offered 3 mil more guarenteed but yet he hasn't signed. if that happens when we play them there should be a bounty offered on the guys head

I feel like we're being used too... we'll just have to wait and see. We've already leaked it out that we will outbid everyone for him... so if he chooses Miami over us, you know what's up.

exactly papz. you know where i got that idea. before washington dc got their mlb team where i am from in virginia were trying to get the team also. they had people buy season tickets by putting a thousand dollar deposit down. they had like over 10 thousand people do that and they had sold 25% of their suites too. well then we didn't get the tema and they had to refund the depostis obviously. so to me it is like we are nothing more then a stop between who he wants to sign with but who isn't offering enough money. so how do you get more money? say you are willing to sign with a team that is offereing a bunch of money and then sign with the dolphins for like a mil or two less but you got more then they originally offered and you get where you wanted to be. i hope that all makes sense and i hope i am wrong but why hasn't he signed?

It was quoted somewhere that he wanted to "honor his commitment" to the Dolphins and visit them.

I think we're getting worked big time. If Miami offered 3 million more in guaranteed money than us he would have already signed and had a jersey with his name and number on the back. We may wind up getting him in the end but only because we overpayed for him. Brees and his agent are using us to get more money out of Miami and our FO doesn't realize it, and as a result we're waiting around for his answer rather than looking at other free agents.
