Camp Report...WR's

There's Joe Horn and there's... - Joe Horn is the Saints' clear-cut No. 1 receiver going into this season. The rest of the receivers, now that's a different story.

Devery Henderson has been lining up with the first team as opposed to Donté Stallworth in the two-wide receiver sets.

Payton was clearly displeased with Stallworth, the Saints' 2002 first-round pick, during the team's June mini-camp. Stallworth watched from the sideline in two of the team's five practices. Stallworth also skipped out on some of the Saints' offseason workouts following the mini-camp.

"(Stallworth) has made some progress," Payton said. "I'm trying to get more consistency and see him try to get better. He's made some progress. With a number of guys we just need to see them keep getting better. He's getting better. We need to see him get better."

Stallworth is in the final year of his contract with the Saints.

At times, Henderson has struggled to catch the football during training camp. Payton remains optimistic about the former LSU player and said Henderson is working hard to improve.

Injury report - Wide receivers Bethel Johnson (hamstring) and Michael Lewis (knee), along with punter Mitch Berger (groin) were the only players to sit out of Wednesday morning's practice.

McAllister (knee) and Stallworth (groin), along with Berger and Lewis, sat out the afternoon practice.

Quarterback Jamie Martin and defensive tackle McKinley Boykin returned to the team after dealing with personal issues. This was Martin's first practice since training camp began.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over, over, and over again...and expecting a different outcome!
