THIS IS A GREAT PICK UP... we need two starters at QB these days. Bouman I feel is our guy but to bring in a QB that can compete and has up-side is AWESOME! We could groom him to replace Brooks one day.

Days of grooming have passed? I\'m going to say these two little words one more time, and these words are actually very big.....CINCINATTI BENGALS. I could be totally wrong, but Akili Smith in a GOOD offensive system could end up being a pretty decent QB.

Akili Smith sucks...always has...always will. He\'s the poster boy for the reason the NFL combine should end before the UN does!!

The NFL combine doesn\'t force any GM to make bad decisions. They can still listen to their scouts and look at game film. If they want to put emphasis on numbers that\'s their problem. The combine simply opens up the possibility to have a fair comparision (especially of the speed numbers). Plus it\'s more of a media thing. Most of the scouts knew that Terrell Suggs wouldn\'t be very fast, but if you have to fill your column for the day the 4.7+ suddenly becomes big news.
Akili Smith - the career is over. Stay away from him.

D it up.............I can agree to disagree...........Akili did have one starting season, out of 5? I think he threw more int. than touchdowns. Yes there are alot of reasons people throw more int. than td\'s. Blake came out of the same program and after he was well he received zero playing time. I think Blake was probably better than Smith. Give him a look, satisfy your curiosity and move on.

Akili Smith a Saint, I like that idea, he\'d make a good ball boy. I think with the players we have, we could get him into the pro bowl. Then again maybe not but I dont think he should be allowed to be around our team, with his bad karma from the Bungles, just let him go. Maybe to Dallas :D let him hold them down. He couldnt carry Joe Horn\'s Jock Strap
