Playoffs coming into focus

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I found this on ESPN Page 2 and quite honestly, it had me laughing the whole way through. This guy is pretty funny. Check it out. Especially regarding the WR's of Atlanta, dont forget to read the photo with caption. ...

Very nice. I also enjoyed the smack about Cutler. Classic.

RE: Re: Playoffs coming into focus

With 8 wins, I'm very excited. But, as fans, let's not lose focus of what the team really needs to accomplish:

1) clinch a playoff spot
2) put ourself in the best position to win all of our playoff games (ie Win the Super Bowl)

The reason I say this is that I don't want us to get overly distracted by winning the division, player awards, home-field advantage or the top seed. Look at the Minnesota Twins. They have the AL MVP, the AL Cy Young winner, the division pennant, the top seed in the AL, home field advantage in their dome stadium, yet it's a long cold winter in the Twin Cities because they were swept 3-0 in the playoffs. Also, look at the NE Patriots - obviously they like to do well in the regular season, but they really seem focused on saving themselves for a long playoff run. Personally, I'd rather lose the next four games and go to the Super Bowl as a wildcard than go 12-4 and lose our first playoff game.

I'd love for us to wail on Cowboys this Sunday and send them a big wake-up call, but clinching the playoffs is the true reason we must have this game.
Once we clinch, the prime directive is make sure Horn, Colston and the rest of the team are ready for the post-season, everything else is gravy.
