RE: Tomlinson AP NFL MVP........

Nice story, but kinda selfish to Brees didn't get closer. Doesn't matter now b/c Brees will hopefully be Super Bowl MVP

To top it off, Brees didn't win comeback player of he yr award. I'd feel better if Carson Palmer won it instead of Pennington

I don't have a problem with LT winning I'm just shocked that Brees got so few votes....OH well........Let's just win in Miami...

Any other year Brees probably would have won it. But you cant argue with Tomlinson winning because he had a year that no one else in the history of the league has had. Props to LT...but that doesnt take away anything Brees did for this team...when was the last time the Saints had anyone finish in the top 3 for league MVP?

I have to dissagree Boba. As I stated in another post, MVP, to me, means a player, on a team, that makes a team successful. Now, with that said, I am not saying that the Chargers aren't a better team with Tomlinson, don't get me wrong. I am saying, that without Tomlinson the Chargers still go to the play offs. Without Brees, the Saints are still in the cellar. Not to mention, beating Manning in passing yards is a hell of an accomplishment on it's on. That touchdown record has been beaten three times in five seasons. I understand he did it in fewer games, but still, it's been beaten alot.

I agree with the Superbowl MVP comments. That's the way I want it as well. But Brees got hosed on both MVP, and CPOY. Once again, it's the freakin AP. They've been ruining college ball for years, I guess they wanted to show that they are multi-talented, at incompetence.

What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular.....

I see where you are coming from in calling it the Most "Valuable" Player. The thing is, most voters dont see it that way. The award typically goes to the guy who puts up the best numbers and that is Tomlinson...now whether the cemantics of the rule are right or wrong, thats a different story. But given the history of the voting, everyone had to know that Tomlinson would win the award going away.

It's all in the reflexes.
