Re: espn now reporting vick could serve a minimun of 18months with suspension ..

I heard the same thing today on ESPN Smitty..
He'll miss this season and next due to jail time and his suspension would start after his release from prison, Clayton with ESPN said today that the earliest he feels Vick could play would be 2010, question is, which owner would want him, Vick would bring a lot of bad attention to his new team if signed with one..
IMO Vick is done in the NFL, we've seen the last of him I think..
Vick screwed himself out of millions of dollars due to stupidity..

More bad news for the Falcons but good news for Saint fans..

ESPN - Falcons sliced thin at QB: Shockley's season over - NFL

"Injured, 'disappointed' Shockley won't play this season"

Maybe Ricky Williams will visit him so they can do some financial planning.

Re: 10-12 months prison time, maybe more for vick

First off Vick stupidity got him into this, even though his boyz ratted/snitched him out but I hate to bring this news to the Vick haters/lovers but Vick will get time off for good behavior(just keeping it real and knowing the judicial system – no I have not been in jail so forum fans can keep the smart comments), will serve half of his sentence and than the NFL will serve him his punishment as well and once done he’ll be back in the NFL, this is not the end of the world for Mike (see Jamal Lewis, Ray Lewis etc). Although his reentry back into the NFL will be minus all the endorsements but he’ll play again. Also dog fighting has been around for a long long time and will continue to be around and if this was a REGULAR person than this would have been on the back page of the fans metro page in the local papaers). Yes Vick should have been aware and yes he was made an example of but he’ll play again. Also roster fights have been going on longer and has anyone been attacked by whomever (animal rights groups etc) only thing is when a roster loses he gets plucked, fried and eaten not buried I really don't see a difference

The difference between rooster fighting and dog fighting is that rooster fighting was legal at one time. Dog fighting has never been legal.

slam dunk! In your face!
He knew what he was doing and now he pays for it. Clayton says about 28 million up front in contract money alone. that does not include indoresments.
Now we will find out how good he is at scambling from bubba when he drops the soap in the shower. He should have 18+ months to get the moves down. The next time we see him he maybe in drag. He may like it.

Dude, no one can stay out of football that long and make a significant comeback... atleast, not in the NFL.

If he does make it back, he's not going to start... unless it's for an extremely desperate/garbage team. And, even then, he's not going to last long.

Face it, he's done.

Though, he may have some hope in the CFL.

Re: 10-12 months prison time, maybe more for vick

The difference between cock fighting and dog fighting is pretty clear to me. People love dogs because they're man's best friend; people love chickens because they're delicious. Everyone knows that you can kill pretty much any animal indiginous to this contienent for "sport" as long as you lay off dogs and eagles.

You argument is logical, but this is an emotional issue. If this had been chickens, most people would have laughed it off (See Seinfeld's "Little Jerry Seinfeld" episode), but when it comes to harming dogs, that's when people get upset (See "Old Yeller").
