Re: Next Years Draft

Ok where are we picking? No clue right. I am willing to spend our first or second round pick on a stud for the OL. That has to be the last piece missing for this unit. After that CB, DT, LB just like like last years wish list. Do we really want another #1 on a WR? Remember Colston will be in a contract year. So that means we will be paying 3 #1 WR in 2 years? think not. Well then again we could become the Lions of the south. As for RB that is interesting. But we maybe better off trading out and getting picks. Lets see how this rotation at RB works first.

The answer is simple,,,,,Dorsey. I know this is going against what some seem to think around here but you don't go from the number 1 offense in the league one year to the worst(or at least one of the worst) in one year without talent. This team has the talent, what they need is leadership and a swift kick in the ass.

Where we are hurting the worst is on defense. Our needs are many on defense but you don't see a defensive tackle like Dorsey come along very often. If we have a shot to get him, that's where i go.

Dorsey is my pick as well and I'm not being biased because he's a tiger. Like someone already mentioned, if we have dorsey in the middle it's just gonna elevate the play of Grant and Smith, which will take some of the pressure off our secondary and LBs. If Dorsey is there when we draft, we better run to the podium with the pick.

Besides we've already given up picks to trade up for a RB we'd eventually cut.
Traded a pick for a CB and over paid him, only to find he's not worth a Fred Thomas.
Drafted a WR as our first rounder to spend time on the bench and develop.

It's time to go another direction.....besides even if Dorsey did turn out to be a bust at DT, it can't possibly be as bad as the Sullivan debacle.

I can't believe anyone who has watched the o-line play so far this year would suggest that drafting some help there is a bad idea.

Great post JoeSam. Our offense has talent, they're just not putting it all together right now. Once they get on the same page, they'll be fine. Sure, we need some help on the line and at receiver, but you make a good point here.

The last few years we have been a poor defensive team. Last year we got a little better, especially in terms of being opportunistic, but you can only be opportunistic for so long. After a while, your talent (or lack thereof) catches up with you, and that's what's going on right now. We have a serious lack of talent on defense and we need to address it. Drafting Glenn Dorsey would be a good start there, as it would help establish the middle of our line and free up our DEs.

However, as much as I think we FINALLY need to use a first-round pick on defense, I wouldn't be able to disparage the pick if we took Jake Long.
