The True Reason for Depression

For me, it's the thought that the Saints of ol' are back. Back to the days of erratic play week to week, and 8-8 records. With Payton, Drew and Co., I thought for sure we'd be able to put up a couple of good seasons, maybe even 4-5 years of consistent winning football. But here it is, week 10, and it's back to "who are we drafting", or "wait till next year". It's almost too much to stomach.

The more things change for the Saints, the more they stay the same.

I've been cheering for this team since 1967, and I've learned to keep expectations low.

Lose 4 in a row, win 4 in a row, lose 4 in a row, win 4 in a row.

I said it back at the beginning of October, when we were 0-4, I predict that we will (eventually) do better, probably ending up 7-9 or 8-8.

Re: The True Reason for Depression

We may have over achieved last year, but we are totally under achieving this year. Its tough watching the same mistakes week after week. Its tough watching us lose games the same way over and over with no evidence of a plan B, C, or D for protection, pressure, or coverage. I have seen it all, but even after 40 years, its still not easy.
