How bout the o-line part deux

After a very complete offensive performance against the Cards this offense is now ranked 5th in the NFL for total offense. Right behind the four teams that have clinched a first round bye in the playoffs. The Saints are tied for 2nd on fewest offensive penalties. We are 1 of 2 teams in the top 10 of total offense on the negative side of the turnover battle at -7, Philly is ranked #8 and sits at -6.
Saints are #3 in the NFL for passing yards. Brees is completing 68.7% of his passes. We have given up 12 sacks on the year which translates into 1 sack for every 45 passing attempts. Philly has given up 42 sacks on the year which is a sack every 11 attempts.
Saints are #26 in the NFL for rushing yards averaging 3.7 per att. Still no big runs, only 4 runs over 20 yds and 0 runs over 40 yds. Not good for the turnover margin Saints have had 10 fumbles on running plays. The Eagles rank 9th running the ball with a 4.6 average. They have 14 runs over 20 yds and 0 over 40 yds.
As for Reggie he is the 33rd ranked rb with a 3.7 yrd avg. He is ranked at 17th for # of passes caught with only one rb ahead of him (Westbrook). If you figure out his total runs and catches together he is avg 4.3 yards per touch. His total yardage for runs and catches is 998. Not to sure if he gives us 1200 yds a year running or catching the ball if we should label him a bust just yet.
This offense is exactly where it was last year, one of the best in the league. Of course last year it was the best in the league. Without Deuce this year I have no complaints being #5 in the NFL for yardage per game. It was no fluke having the best offense over a 16 game schedule last year and after the slow start this year we will end up with a top 5 offense this year. So to the fans that think we need to rebuild the o-line I think other areas might be a little more important. Just so it has time to sink in: 1st in the NFL for total offense last year(one game is a fluke, entire season that is who you are) OK wait for it....This year 5th in the NFL for total offense(underachieved at first but they will finish strong).
Anyway mad props to the o-line our 2 undrafted rbs looked like probowlers with those holes. Brees finished 26 out of 30 and I think the o-line should get a little credit for that. And about that sack I aint mad attcha it is all in the stats it was due. 1 sack every 45 attempts I think Brees will take that. Thanks to the o-line and keep up the good work.
