Former Saints LB's emerge.....

The Jets worked out free agent LBs Alfred Fincher, Trev Faulk, and Rian Wallace on Thursday.

Fincher was a third-round pick of the Saints in 2005, but never panned out out. The Jets could be looking at him and Wallace, a former Steeler, as possible futures signees. Faulk is a veteran special teamer.

Are they looking for someone because they may lose someone?

Not sure, but Vilma does have one more year on his current contract. He could be waived, or traded. His value to the Jets, or anybody else for that matter, will obviously be determined if he heals from his recent surgery.

What I found curious was the Saints waived Fincher "injured" on November 27, 2007. A little more than a month later he is trying out for the Jets! Hmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Yeah, that is an interesting point, isn't it. Healed up pretty fast, didn't he? I'd swap an "injured" Fincher for a **genuinely** injured Vilma any day, no hesitation. Never happen though. Fantasy... Our best shot is Laurenitas.

when it happened i thought i read that vilmas injury was bad enough to keep him sidelined through next year, does anyone have any recent info on his status?
