President Obama in Saints' corner

Quote:

In an interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer, she asked President Barack Obama to pick between the Colts and the Saints in the Super Bowlhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif.
RELATED STORIES

"You know, I think both teams are terrific. I guess I am rooting a little bit for the Saints as the underdog, partly just because when I think about what's happened in New Orleans over the last several years and how much that team means to them. You know, I'm pretty sympathetic.”
Kardashian sets bowl bet straight

Kim Kardashian, who's had an on-again, off-again romance with New Orleans Saints player Reggie Bush -- at last report, it's still "on" -- is fighting off reports that she'd marry him if his team beats the Colts in the Super Bowl.
From her blog at Kim Kardashian official web site ? photos, blog, news, bio "There is a story going around saying I made a bet that Reggie would propose if The Saints won the Superbowl.
"This is not true. I never made any kind of bet. A radio interviewer asked what I dreamed for in 2010 and I was hesitant and thinking about it and they said what about a ring. I said yes, a Superbowl ring for Reggie. Then they said that if he gets a Superbowl ring, I get an engagement ring, and I said 'ok deal!' LOL.
"This was taken way out of context by a lot of media outlets, who are saying I made a bet with Reggie, which I didn't. In NO way is that a bet I made with Reggie! If you listen to the interview you can hear exactly what I said! It bugs me how people twist stories when the interview is right there to hear for yourself. I just wanted to clear that up!"
Super Bowl coin traveled on Shuttle

A specially minted silver coin that's survived zero gravity will fall to the ground to start the Super Bowl.
And if you don't think the coin flip is all that important, keep in mind that not only will it be a point for many bets on the game, but the Saints, with the luck of a coin flip, took the ball in an overtime battle to win the NFC Championship.
Several astronauts will deliver the coin at 10 a.m. Wednesday to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, NASA reports.
The coin was carried on the 11-day journey of space shuttle Atlantis that ended Nov. 27.
The astronauts also will deliver a football that went on the space mission. The names of every member of the Hall of Fame were inscribed on the ball. That includes several from the former Baltimore Colts but only one member of the Indianapolis Colts: Eric Dickerson, who was on the team from 1987 to 1991.

I do not know about everyone else but i am getting pretty tired of the Katrina sympathy vote. We F&$^ing earned our place at the table.

Also Obama favoring the Saints to win does not give me warm and fuzzys.

Past Obama Picks:
Tim Geithner
Cash for Clunkers
Van Jones..

Etc...

Nothing political about my opinion, but NO THANKS Obama. Don't need a Bear's fan on our bandwagon.

Hey, all kinds of fans are taking side right now and there are only two teams left to choose from.

C'mon the past 43 Super Bowls I've picked a team I wanted to win.

So what the heck is this with the "No don't cheer for us Obama!!" talk. I think it's awesome, and you can expect a lot more now that we're here.

It beats the heck out of being the punchline on the Tonight Show monologue. Believe me, that used to happen a lot. Many of you would have hated Johnny Carson...

ENJOY THIS!

Coming from a Colts fan, I would completely agree with you there. The Saints earned their right, and winners should be chosen based on the merits of the team and not because of a "feel-good" sympathy story.

Along the same lines, I was a little bit off-put that Colts WR Pierre Garcon was drumming up his Haitian background in light of the tragic earthquakes.

Unfortunately it will be the "stroyline" of the game. Katrina and Garcon's connection to Haiti. We are going to be blasted about it 24/7 by the pundits.
