Betting Line going up, up, up

The spread opened around 3.5-4, but now is up to six.

So, the early money is all on the Colts, forcing the line up. Remember, Vegas is impartial- they want an even amount of betting on both sides.

The good number for us is the over- 56.5- hard to imagine the Colts stopping us and the bookies agree.

Dang...wish I would have got in on it when it was 3.5. Might be a good game to try to "middle"...but too late now.

Why? That makes no sense. The saints are getting MORE points now. <scratches head>

OK...I take Colts and give the 3.5. Later I take the Saints and, say, 7. I bet a grand on each and if the Colts win by 4, 5, or 6 I win both bets. Otherwise, i only stand to lose 100 dollars. Risk 100 to win 2000. Called middling.

Edit...I'm assuming the odds are 11/10

Usually 10/11? Otherwise the bookies would not profit

Bet 11 to win 10...I think that's 11/10...no?

I'm not sure, but I think it would probably vary from local bookies to Vegas books. A good bookie lays off his bets that are lopsided and takes the juice to assure he doesn't lose...unless he's a gambler and decides to play a game himself. Most probably have a bookie of their own that they lay their bets off with.

I'm not a bookie...just guessing.
