Does this have the potential to ruin the team's image for a long time?
Who's going to want to come to a team that after a Big bowl win starts to show their poker face and allow some of their best players seek interest from other teams.
Im not sure what the Tender offers were but if they were any good or showed a reflection of gratitude why hasn't anyone jumping on any of these deals?
Giants, Patriots and Steelers were able to cling on to most of their players and make them very happy after bowl wins.
I know we're in a awkward position with the uncapped season but damn, whats the hold up?
well thats my rant.

Think of a tender as a place holder.
The Saints have too many RFAs to work contracts with all of them in a matter of days. Placing tenders on them allows Loomis to work contracts on a priority basis (should the FO want to sign the player to a multi-year deal). Should another team offer a Saints RFA a contract, since the Saints would have a right to match it, Loomis' work would be reduced to reviewing the offered contract and decide "yes" or "no", rather than going through the motions of negociating the contract.

I have mixed emotions. Nobody has escaped, yet, that bugs me a lot. I will wait and see what transpires before I answer this question, but I do see where you're coming from with this.

I like Fujita, the guy, and he was a legitimate LB'er, but I do think that he is replacable...possibly with someone already on the roster.

We just won the SB based on recent decisions made by management and exceptionally skillful coaching, so I'm not gonna rag on them...yet.

Not worried. A lot of players leave after winning the superbowl. As disappointed as I am about Fujita leaving I understand that he is not worth $5 million a year at this stage of his career. Look how many of you don't think a certain RB isn't worth $8 million this year yet he scored 11 TD's and you want to give a LB with 58 tackles, 1 sack and a fumble recovery $5 million.

Didn't like losing a proven leader, player in Fujita...

That said, the Saints more than almost, most teams, have to be very aware of salary cap and collective bargaining agreements...

And winning the Superbowl could have happened at a better time; not that any time is a bad time to win the Superbowl...

That said, they really have played this thing quite well and the current status quo of being able to restrict more free agents than in a "capped" year, coupled with an especially deep draft, has played out quite nicely...

I am still waiting to hear an announcement about Jahri Evans' contract.

Hopefully, it will be all done soon, so Loomis can get on with Pierre Thomas' deal.

"Reward"??

The Lombardi Trophy was the team's reward for last year.

It's a new season and now is when the number-crunching really begins.

Emotions aside - "How" the FO spends money could get us back to the SB... Not rewarding someone with a big payday.

Money ruins it all!! 5 million for Fujita is WAY OUT OF LINE. He isn't worth it!!

Sure, we would like most of the SB Saints to return and proactively offering bucks would help that. But I also think that the Saints are in a stronger position to keep or obtain good and very good players than most, especially players who see a SB ring as "priceless".
Lastly, we don't know the level of communication behind closed doors. Maybe, just maybe, the Saints have spoken informally to many but that news ain't coming out, There is still time to sort the players out.
