Well people, we are now in the football equivalent of Vietnam.

By quarter 4, I found myself hollering at the TV, "Put Peyton back in, let him throw for 10 TD's" or something like that, show the world that "The Haslett Way" is a farce. My wife asked, "I thought you loved the Saints?"

All I could think to say was, "We have to destroy this team in order to save it."

The football equivalent of Vietnam?

So, when the Americans killed millions of Vietnamese women and children and destroyed a country that dared to say no to colonialism, that worked out really well, didn\'t it? After all the death and destruction they had spread to finally win the war they were able to install a working democracy and Vietnam\'s economy boomed. What\'re ya saying? That helicopter was going OUT?
I don\'t get it. How is this like Vietnam?

I also don\'t agree that this team needs to be destroyed and rebuild in order to have success. Let the Saints finish 1-15. How many good free agents CBs will want to come to New Orleans in that case? Did you read the full circle theory? Destroy it all now so we can have a decent team by 2026? Sorry, that\'s not my idea. Haslett and his team has to go, so does Loomis. After this game in the national spotlight I asume Benson is already considering how he can reach a favorable settlement with Haz after the season. They way Haslett talks right now he sounds like someone who would quit his job after the season if he isn\'t fired.
They\'re not the worst team in the NFL and I don\'t want them to get there in the next years. And yes, I still wish them well for this year, even with this coaching staff and Brooks, who may be more part of the problem than the solution.

\"What is Wal-Mart? Is it like they sell wall stuff?\"

All of them, if A) the money is right, and B) there\'s a new sherrif in town promising a new system and success. Players buy in to new coaches every single year, no matter how bad the team was the year before.

BMG, you are the man. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to go forwards. So, I hope we go 3-13 so there will be no doubt a coaching change HAS to be made. Until then, we all have to take the bite out of the crap sandwhich.
