Our Defense

These guys flat out come to play every week, it was great to have Greer back and it showed with the pick 6. We can do a little bit better at stopping the run, but our run D is miles ahead of what they were last year.
I like the aggressiveness that GW is dialing up, we seem to get consistent pressure on the QB, and I've said it once and I'll keep saying it, as long as Sharper is in the secondary - turnovers are created, he made a great hit on Stewart to force the fumble, gotta love how our D is playing right now!
You guys agree?

Absolutely. I've been saying our D looks good. We play hard. I want to know about Sharper's Hammy. And Jenkins. I didn't see him return, but it didn't look too serious.

Pretty much agree.

A healthy defense primes us for a playoff run.

I agree! Defense is playing very well. Even when they stick in a non starter, they all seem to step up their game.
Torrence for example; got his first career interception last week and then got a sack late in the 4th today.

I guess all those interceptions and pick-sixes from last year that Sharper ran back were just "cleaning up" as you put it?

Sharper's nickname should be "The Clean Up Man", because that's what he does is clean up after other guys make plays.

What about all those horrible open field missed tackles by Sharper today?

Sed Ellis played out of his mind today. Good job D, but still some work to be done.
Give credit where credit is due. Sharper makes the defense better. How many more INT's, fumble recoveries and TD's did he have last season??? And how many do we have this season before he returned - and after...???

And you can't call it a "cheap blind side hit" anyway - Stewart wasn't even on the ground. That was a head's up play to lay the wood when he needed to.

You call it "cheap", I call it "opportunistic".

Oh PUH-LEEEZ Nancy...

Go ahead and make your point now - You saying Sharper is overrated???

I'll take his experience at the FS spot, over Jenkins any day. You can't argue 14 years of getting it done wherever he played.

Sharper misses alot of open field tackles but everyone overlooks that.
Okay, show me where Sharper misses more open field tackles than any other FS.

And I don't think anyone here is anointing him MVP of the team... Shaper is an elite FS who does thrive in GW's system because he gets to play FS - something he didn't do in Minnesota.

IF you wanna knock a player down a notch, let's look somewhere else.
