Five thoughts on the Saints' sad performance in Seattle

I agree about the kickoffs. That's a loser's mentality, assuming your guys can't make a play. I covered Ron Zook for three years at Florida, and that was the type of thing he would do. Payton is a much better coach than Zook, but he succumbed to that type of mentality yesterday.

I also agree about the play call on fourth-and-inches. I had no problem with going for it, but Brees should have sneaked. He also should have run for the first down (and maybe a touchdown) on the opening possession when he dumped it to Bush, who dropped the ball on the third down. Obviously that's on Bush. He has to make that catch. But Brees had a certain path to the first down, so there was no reason to risk the throw.

I don't agree about the running game because the Saints actually scored two rushing touchdowns. The problems in the red zone had nothing to do with the running game this time. You can with without a running game as long as you can punch the ball in the end zone on the ground.

I could write a story with five more thoughts on the game, but the five I wrote about yesterday were the ones that struck me the most.

I didn't recognize the defense on the field in Seattle. Outside of being flat, where was the aggressive blitz packages. Any quarterback on the professional level will pick you to pieces with time. Their recievers were behind several backs not just Harper. I want to know who was wearing Porters jersey too. Totally confused after that game, Seattle scores 41, totally confused.

Roman Harper was the main reason we lost the game. I don't think he could of read a Pop Warner Teams Offense yesterday. Also Why Didn't we blitz more I can only remember a few blitzes the whole game and the ones we did use were affective. But Still congratz to the Saints we were 11- 5, we did make the playoffs.. Good luck in the off seaason, There are a few positions we need to adress. 1) RB what is the future of Reggie here, The cap money he takes up could be used elsewhere. What is gonna happen with Piere Thomas? will we keep him? 2) We definitly need a defensive pass rusher. I say Bring in Cameron Heywood from Ohio State. We have had recent success with players from that scool and he is The Ironheads son. 3) lastly we could use some outside LB help always someone there in Free agent market. GEAUX SAINTS We will Be back again Next Year.
