I don't know. The Packers I get, but Pittsburgh not so much. I do agree it felt different this year. I'm jealous, but not quite as much. We got a ring now...and we're going to get another one next year.

I could careless what happened in the games today; just watched them because it was football. Like years prior to our amazing year, I'm already focused to the draft and free agency.

I do have this satisfactory feeling that though we didn't make it this year[not many even make the play-offs after winning the S.B.], that we did win one before the hated Falcons.

And the feeling that we did win one and have the team/coaches to compete with the championship teams for the next few years...

It was kind of hard watching the NFC game knowing that game could've very easily been played at the Dome. Had we eeked out a win against the Seashells, that would've been just the wake up call we needed to go to Chicago and win. Even taking all of our injuries into consideration, we would've put up a big fight. No one in the league has the heart and determination that Brees has and Greg Williams would've had his defense back where it needed to be if we had won in the Wild Card round.

Oh well, enough of the what ifs. Next year I think we will see the type of dominating ball that we did in '09. Not just on offense but on deference too. Sean Payton, Greg Williams, Drew Brees & everyone else are not going to let the sting of this years early departure fade away. It will be the one motivating factor for this team next year. In 2011 we'll be under the radar and no one will see us coming. Maybe I'm too much if an optimist, but I think the Lombardi Trophy will be marching back to a New Orleans sooner than people think.

Lol. I watched the Conference Championship today. I'll watch the Super Bowl win on Feb. 6th. Can't wait to see the ambush play again. That was the greatest play in Super Bowl history!

It just NEVER gets old!!!

I didn't even watch the games. Couldn't care who won or lost, just still pissed that we didn't get in. Oh well....

I watched because I'm still bitter about '06. I wanted the Packers to roll over the bears. And because I just wanted to see some good football.

st thomas 01-23-2011 11:37 PM

felt like i had something to settle with the bears also, it were'nt the saints playing them but the win felt as if we did. i just can't get this out of my mind. was reggie a better all around player in 06 then 4 years in. it just bugs me to hell. i guess i'm talking about heart, is it still there.

Im so in your frame of mind, loved watching them get beat.

We watched the AFC game and wanted the Jets to win since my son is a Jets fan. Too bad they dug themselves too big of a hole and didn't decide to start playing ball until the last minute of the 1st half...

Sick of the Steelers in there all the time - they are like the 49ers/Cowboys.

Watched about two plays of the NFC game. Sorry, but we should have been there if we would have had taken Seattle seriously... If not for injuries and that egg in Seattle, we could have beaten any team in the NFC if we played like we are capable of playing.

So my household will be passing on the Superbowl this year. Don't care for either team left, so we may pop in last year's Superbowl in the DVD player instead!

Was glad to see the Packers roll over Cutler, but I am getting sick of Steeler fans around here as well. It was depressing watching the games and I kept threatening to put in the Saints/Minnesota dvd in because my heart just isn't in it now. I will probably put in the SB dvd in two weeks as well and watch a game that still means something to me.

I guess hanging out with family and friends keeps me occupied on Sunday, so it eases the sting of the Seahawks loss, even that thought we all cant get rid of in the back of our heads is there. (IF we could've just gotten past Seattle, we'd have been hosting the Packers in the Dome Its like the boobies in Saintfan's avatar. Always there in my mind, somewhere.

I'm ok with this year's SB participants. I particularly like Green Bay. If you think about it, they're US. Small market team in a city thats supposed to not be big enough to support a team. For a long time the only major sports team in town. A bunch of season tix holders who drive from the middle of nowhere, and nearby states, (like MS). A much greater closeness to their players, as a result of the smaller town situation, and krazzzyyy fans. The whole area painted team colors. The only thing thats really different is their weather.

poydras 01-24-2011 07:45 AM

I was ok with all of the final four. I just didn't want any of the 14 teams that have never won to have a chance. It's like once you get in an exclusive club, wanting to raise the admission standards. ;)

I live in the northeast. Steeler fans are coming out of the woodwork, which atleast gives me a rooting interest in the SB. Geaux Pack!

When I saw her I thought of you...uhhh...wait a minute. That didn't come out right. THPLT. You know what I mean.

papz 01-24-2011 01:13 PM

I've always felt if it wasn't us then it was going to be Green Bay. They're above average on both sides of the ball and should make a hell of a matchup against Pittsburgh's attacking defense. I'll be rooting for Green Bay. I typically don't watch Superbowls(I don't know why... I just don't), but I'm definitely not going to miss this one.
