"Great game"... well that's quite an exaggeration. They threw the ball all over us. If Lynch didn't lose two fumbles, they scoring in that game would have been higher.
So basically one "great game" against mighty Carolina Panthers and "great game" against the Seahawks and sudden now he's ready to take over for Roman Harper. This does not compute.

Pray tell, what has he done that's so awful, besides being a good backup and special teamer? We can't fault him for being burned at the corner when he's NOT A CORNER.

Since I have not called him an awful player, I couldn't explain this to you. Usama Young is an average backup and special teams player. A so-called 2 "great games" does not disclude what he's done over past couple of seasons. You can keep not calling him a corner, but that's the position where he was drafted and played at for the past 5 seasons. Now while this may not the best position for him, I'm sorry but that's where plays for the most part.

BTW, that play in the Super Bowl everybody always talks about to illustrate how bad he is? He got no safety help, and guess whose side it was on? Hint: he wears #41.

It's happened on more than one occasion where he has been caught looking into the backfield. I'm not excluding Harper from any blame... we all know he's not exactly the best cover guy out there. He's a box safety.
Yes he's upgradeable... but the money it'll cost to do so isn't worth it especially with our own free agents looming. I'm not blind and bias into thinking he's an all world safety. I'm also not blind into thinking Usama Young is the answer because he had two " great games".

That's merely your opinion, don't state it as fact. Regardless, if you keep an open mind and judge him on his performance at safety, you'll find you're wrong.

It seems to me that you're the one pushing Harper as being easily replaceable and Young as a more than adequte replacement for him. I am open minded... I'm aware he has talent and the measureables to succeed there. I'm aware Young plays better with the ball in front of him. But in 5 years, he hasn't shown much. And that... is a FACT.
If you're going to continue to sit there and use his "great game" against Carolina to reason that he'll be a good replacement for Harper than you my friend... need to take off the blinders and think logically.
