Good! Now if the young guns on the team can't beat him out for the starting position they don't deserve to play.

Luda34 07-28-2011 03:57 PM

We signing all these guys back have anyone heard anything about Harper yet. Oh damn really Shanle back BULL

jnormand 07-28-2011 04:11 PM

to who??? and for what/ who??? we would have to give someone draft picks just to take him. most teams wouldnt accept shanle and a second round pick just to get him off our hands and out of my life

TheEnigma 07-28-2011 04:26 PM

Get this guy out of here! I can't take another year with him on our team.

Speedy Ron 07-28-2011 04:28 PM

there are no reports anywhere that this has any bit of truth to it

not only that but looking at the username of the OP should tell you about the bias that he may have towards trolling

i think we should bring shanle back but this is just rumor....nothing has been reported aside from him setting up a visit with the rams.....chiefs, lions and eagles are also apparently interested in him

QBREES9 07-28-2011 04:48 PM

Ok I'm going to say they know more then we do.

CantonLegend 07-28-2011 04:50 PM

SP is reporting at his press conference that they have re-signed safety chris reis and OLB scott shanle

saintfan 07-28-2011 04:54 PM

Well I'm in the minority...again...but welcome back Scott. I hope somebody beats you out for the starting job, but until then...

I'm right there with you!

Jack Vegas 07-28-2011 05:02 PM

I'm with you too. Shanle is not a great player but he's a pretty good one and you can rely on him. Worst case scenario, with no injuries we're looking at a Shanle-Vilma-Casilla LB group and that's not bad at all.

Exactly.

Thank You.

Somebody Gets It...

foreverfan 07-28-2011 05:08 PM

Enough about Shanle or the Duck gets it.

Donuts32 07-28-2011 05:09 PM

OMG!! Not Shanle again. I pray to God he doesn't start week 1.

AlaskaSaints 07-28-2011 05:13 PM

St. Louis should have to give up something for NOT taking him!!! LOL

Alaska

Cruize 07-28-2011 05:31 PM

I understand it. With no offseason for the young guys, it's safer to keep him. But, I hope the young guys step it up in the preseason. Shanle is solid but he's just not a playmaker. One playmaker, like Sharper was two years ago, can be the difference between the Saints going to the Super Bowl again or losing to a scrub like Seattle.

the only thing i can rely on him to do is miss tackles and stale our LB corp up

If the young guns on the team can't beat him out, that means the coaching staff has done a pi#@ poor job of talent evaluation and signed a bunch of guys who couldn't outplay out a slow, aging player. This depresses me.

Well hopefully that will be across the DL.

If he was bad as you say he would've been beaten out for his job by one of the parade of young linebackers by now.

Or maybe it means the coaches (who have recently won a Super Bowl and fielded a top -10 defense, by the way) know just a tiny bit more about Shanle than you or anybody else on this forum.

The hate this guy gets is mind-boggling. I don't love him by any stretch but I almost hope he keeps his starting job just so I can watch half the people on this board lose their minds.
