Ingram

i stand corrected... i have been semi secretly on the "i aint seen $h!t for Ingram" train. i just watched nfl replay and watched him closely. i take back what i have said. his run up the middle on 3rd and 1, he plowed 3 guys. his td run to go ahead....manly. he pushes a saint and the man he was blocking out of the way with one hand. i hope he is coming on. also, has anyone watched him talk?... he looks like an english bulldog

I hope that TD was the spark for him. I'm sure he's hungry to make a name for himself. I'd like to see him as rookie running back of the year. Big shoes.

Cheers,

Alaska

We're beginning to see more flashes of what could become greatness. I haven't formed a concrete opinion of him yet. I'm just taking the wait and see approach.

I think its funny how fans keep questioning Ingrams performance in a shortened offseason, one of the deepest backfeilds in the league and an offense that is pass first THREE games into the season. Hes a rookie and at this point is just a luxury we are fortunate to have. I agree with another poster who said that Ingram was drafted to prolong Brees' career down the line. Brees isnt going to be able to throw 400+ yards a game on a reconstructed shoulder forever. By the time Brees starts to decline, Sproles and PT will be getting up in age and that is where Ingram will come into play. Ingram was drafted for the future. I don't understand what people expect out of this guy after 3 games, in a pass happy offense, with a crowded backfield. I am not really referring to many posters on this board, but I have seen it on others.

Well he just needs som carries. How many has he had so far? It has to be around a total of 20 in 3 games. Its gonna take him a little while to get up to speed if he don't get the ball more often.

I'm not worried about him... the Saints don't really need him to have a brake out year right away - although I think he is more than capable of having one - with the situation they have at the RB position. As long as he keeps working on improving his game in all of its aspects, I'm completely fine with his performance.

He'll be a great RB whether its this or the next season simply because he has all the physical traits needed accompanied with the correct mentality to make it all come together in the end.

I'll weigh in, with the amount of able backs that we have, every body keeps everybody else fresh. Unless he was the Adrian Peterson type back I don't see him getting enough carries to be respected right away. but as another poster said. Once the aging of this team starts, he'll be the guy who keeps us relavant for the future.

Ingram is insurance for the post season.

DblBogey 09-29-2011 06:51 AM

He didn't have a 1000+ yds after the initial hit in college for nothing. Put your opinions on hold until the season is over. I think Payton is bringing him along slowly to get him more acclimated to the NFL. He has been compared to Emmit Smith but I am here to tell you he is Mark Ingram and he will make a name for his self in the NFL . . . mark my words!

well really up to this game he has been stuffed at the line, hasnt broken a tackle, and fumbled. hasnt looked so sharp
