How has Roman Harper done in the coverage game this year?

I think hes improved in that area. He certainly has improved in his man-to-man skills. When hes playing down in the paint, which is an area we like to get him in regards to run support and/or pressure, its an area that hes comfortable with and like any other player you work hard on those other areas that maybe you dont view as a strength. I think hes definitely a good example of someone whos gotten better within the framework of our defense and gotten better at some of the skill sets that hes worked on. I think hes consistent. Hes done a great job with some of the tight end matchups. Weve played some pretty good teams that have good tight ends that are involved in the passing game and we ask him to be very involved in coverage and hes done that. That is the beginning mark of good safety play is having that ability to do both things well.

Do you think the fact that Marques Colston came from a small school contributes to his humble personality and have you seen him change with all the success hes had in the NFL?

I havent seen him change. I think hes the same person, obviously more accomplished, but the same personality that we drafted in 06. I do believe that had he come from Texas or USC or LSU, I think youd still have that same personality. In other words, I think we could point to another player Devery Henderson would be a good example from a major college, drafted very high, and yet I think thats how he was raised and thats how his personality is. Certainly that consistency you see with Marques, not on the field, but just in regards to how humble he is, I think thats Marques Colston and I dont think its necessarily because he went to a smaller school.

Full interview.

Real good read, Colston has always been the best underrated receiver in the game today. In my opinion he should be a pro- bowler each and every year.

COlston seems to be a class act - like most of our players. It seems that the front office demands a certain behavior form the guys the draft/pickup.
