What ya think of this take?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I agree with some of what he's saying. Sometimes Drew would rather get rid of the ball than just take a sack. Often times when he does this, he just chucks it in the air and it gets picked off ...

I agree with some of what he's saying. Sometimes Drew would rather get rid of the ball than just take a sack. Often times when he does this, he just chucks it in the air and it gets picked off - like against the Falcons last year when the Falcons had a pick six against us.

However, Drew didn't make any errors like this the last time he faced the 49ers, so let's hope history repeats itself in this case. But I totally get what Whitlock is saying. After all, we got very fortunate that the Lions' secondary had hands of stone. Drew should have gotten picked at least once in that game. Then again maybe we are destined to win it all, just like in '09. Hmmmmm......

SaintsRule, what you need is a generous dose of this:

Forecast: Normal rules don't apply to Saints offense | wwltv.com New Orleans

It will be good for what ails you.

"Brees lobs two or three horrendous passes a game. The key to beating the Saints is securing those gift-wrapped air balls and breaking the serve of New Orleans’ fast-break offense."

Really? The author pins SFran's hopes on winning the game to picking off 'two or three horrendous passes?". Is it because the New Orleans' offense can't recover from mistakes? LoL. You guys are coming off a 600+ offensive yards game and Brees just broke how Marino's passing record, must be a slow news day.

Even Fox Sports writers have to make a living, I suppose. Mr. Whitlock, I dedicate the attached YouTube video to you.

Drew's height affects your "mental" abilities? what a crock of sh**.
The #1 reason he's #1, is his mind.

He's right about Drew making 2 mistakes per game. Thats because he
attempts more, and the biggest percentage of the time, he throws a strike, or another highlight.

pulllleze.

Whitlock is truly a genius.

For a guy to be so teriibly wrong year after year after year and still have a job tells me the guy is brilliant. At what I'm unsure.

More of Whitlock's gems...

From 2006...
6. Memo to the media: Hurricane Katrina did not make the New Orleans Saints more interesting.

The Saints still stink as a franchise. No one cares about the Saints. They're not going to rebuild New Orleans. Reggie Bush won't do much behind New Orleans' awful offensive line. Drew Brees will have a mediocre year. And Sean Payton is not the next Bill Parcells.

Are we clear on this? I'm putting all the TV networks on notice. Don't force-feed me Saints stories because of Hurricane Katrina. I care about New Orleans rebuilding and recovering. I don't care about the worst-run franchise in the NFL.

A recap from slowchild25 at SR...
9. It's difficult for me to see Rex Grossman surviving as Chicago's starter beyond the Bears' initial lap around the NFC Central.

Bears make the Super Bowl with Grossman as starter.

8. The knock I have on Griese is really the same knock I have on Chris Simms and the Mannings. The best football players don't grow up with silver spoons in their mouths.

Peyton Manning wins the Super Bowl.

6. Memo to the media: Hurricane Katrina did not make the New Orleans Saints more interesting.

Saints go 10-6 go to NFC Championship game.

5. I still have high expectations for Al Saunders and the Redskins' offense.

Washington finishes 20th in points scored.

4. Don't be fooled by Cincinnati's spectacular preseason. There are still significant problems in Bengals land. The Bengals have a shot at 6-10

Finish 8-8.

2. For those of you who have forgotten, I dabble in an occasional college football truth in this column. I fully expect Texas to slap the (spit) out of Ohio State this weekend.

Ohio State 24 Texas 7

Drew could have had 3 interceptions in the Detroit game if they could catch. Thing is, nobody knows that more than Drew and he won't make the same mistakes two weeks in a row.

Want to hear a good quote? When they asked Terry Bradshaw why he threw so many jump balls to Lynn Swann, he replied, "I'm not worrying about the defensive backs catching the ball, if they could catch, they'd be wide receivers". Other then Vince Lombardi, Bradshaw dispenses more real football knowledge by just talking then anyone ...

give 'em hell Saints.

As soon as he said " Short mentally and physically " I was done. It's no secret that Brees is short but come on, mentally??? This dude is a tool.
