Although head coach Sean Payton was not a direct participant in the funding or administration of the program, he was aware of the allegations, did not make any detailed inquiry or otherwise seek to learn the facts, and failed to stop the bounty program. He never instructed his assistant coaches or players that a bounty program was improper and could not continue.

I doubt Payton has much interaction with the defensive players.

I've never heard of an offensive player being a participant in a bounty to hurt another player.

While you guys are eating the math of this, explain this to me. I'll take the worst offender from last year. A one Roman Harper, racked up at least 37,500 dollars in fines last year.

15,000 for an after the play hit and scuffle with WR Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers.
15,000 for a hit administered to Matt Hasselback
7,500 dollars for a facemask on Tennessee's Damian Williams

This whole thing makes no sense.... And how espn could break the story, before the investigation was even over, ALSO very suspicious..... I for one, am hoping there is way more to this story, and the whole thing blows up in Adam Sphincter's face....

For starters, I don't see how a player could be the rat, as there's no way a player could ascertain any information regarding conversations between players and coaches. But even then, how would coaches even know if there weren't conversations that were taking place behind closed doors with Gregg Williams and Sean Payton. I don't see any way possible that there could be evidence of this, quite frankly it sounds rather fishy to me.

If 1500 seem insignificant think about how much each player had to contribute to the pot, something like $50. This is what makes no sense to me. Why even waste your time on such a trivial amount of money. There are conflicting reports on how much money was actually involved as well.
