how long is Payton under contract?
 

Just wondering. I hear rumors he may be a Cowboy in 2013. Just want some solid clarification. Then again, we win it all this year and who cares.

I'm almost sure until the 2015 season

Yeah, his contract extension will keep him as the Saints' HC through 2015, and I'm not sure if him being suspended for a year will add another year to the length of that contract - it would in a player's case.

The only way he could become the Cowboys' HC in 2013 is if Benson would give him the boot, and I seriously doubt that will happen, because it would almost certainly mean Loomis was out the door as well.

Depends on how the contract is viewed I suppose. being suspended "with out pay" means there would be a years worth of pay unfulfilled.

I hope he stays a long, long time, even if we someway win it all this year it's with a team Payton put together, just like Sapp said about Tampa, it was put together by Dungy. Also look at Tampa did under Gruden and what Inni. did when Dungy took over.

No way after this Benson would fire either one of them. Not even a little bit. Benson will let this fade into the background and then put his Superbowl team back to work. It may not happen this year but next year with Payton back at the helm we are going to be scary. Spags will have a year here as well and we should be gellin' nicely.

He signed a 3 year extension after last year, IIRC.
