this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Just wondering. I hear rumors he may be a Cowboy in 2013. Just want some solid clarification. Then again, we win it all this year and who cares....

Yeah, his contract extension will keep him as the Saints' HC through 2015, and I'm not sure if him being suspended for a year will add another year to the length of that contract - it would in a player's case. Here's the T-P news story about him signing the extension last year and it states it'll last through the 2015 season. Sean Payton's contract extension with the New Orleans Saints a move for stability - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com The only way he could become the Cowboys' HC in 2013 is if Benson would give him the boot, and I seriously doubt that will happen, because it would almost certainly mean Loomis was out the door as well. |

Depends on how the contract is viewed I suppose. being suspended "with out pay" means there would be a years worth of pay unfulfilled.

I hope he stays a long, long time, even if we someway win it all this year it's with a team Payton put together, just like Sapp said about Tampa, it was put together by Dungy. Also look at Tampa did under Gruden and what Inni. did when Dungy took over.

He signed a 3 year extension after last year, IIRC.
