Here's a theory.....
It seems that daily there's a new lawsuit announced by former players. The League planted the rumor and let ESPN do its bidding on this so as to have another day to distract the media away from the lawsuit issue. They also figured that the story would continue to have legs tomorrow (again keeping the focus away from the lawsuits) yet keeping the league's nose clean as if they are not involved (that's why NFL.com is staying off of it). Wednesday,Thursday and Friday's coverage will focus on the draft, and then next Monday -- after a week of more bad news regarding the "terrible, cheating Saints" GODell will drop the bomb on the Saints players with fines and suspensions.
Net result: Lawsuits are off of the sports pages and talk shows for 7 days, while all the while the Saints continued to be slowly turned over the open flame of negative public opinion, while also building additional support by the public and media for harsh actions against the players....
I hope I'm wrong
