Oh Snap

Skip Bayless just said that he believes the Saints players in the bounty scandal.

NOS2SB 05-03-2012 09:26 AM

Why shouldn't we? Why should we believe Roger. Just because he's the commish. Does that mean he is incapable of lying? HELL NO.

RaginCajun83 05-03-2012 09:43 AM

Wonder which producer put that bright idea into his ear piece today .... I refuse to believe anything that comes out of that hacks mouth

The players never having been shown the evidence against them, and Roger's refusal up to this point to show his hand to the NFLPA is damning in my opinion. Whatever he has is likely flimsy at best - and he knows it - and he knows opening it up to the NFLPA will result in a "oh but HELL no" comment from Upshaw and, for that matter, any American with a respect for innocent until proven guilty.

Its amazing to think that the New Orleans Saints, might actually be responsible for removing Godell, if what we know to be true using common sense is the truth. No way he keeps his job after the millions in law suits.
We would be adored by every fan of the NFL,lol

Rugby Saint II 05-03-2012 10:23 AM

Well, if our buddy Skip says so then I believe it!

dam1953 05-03-2012 10:46 AM

Look at it this way. What have the Saint's player's to gain by lying? Goodel is a dictator. The judge, jury, executioner on all enforcement matters. Fessing up may have gotten players a more lenient sentence.

The NFL, on the other hand, has billion$ to loose. And with every retired player's death the price keeps going up. I think the NFL is trying to keep Washington from turning this into another MLB steroid circus with the owners being 32 clowns in a mini. This is going to get really ugly and football won't be the same. By punishing the Saints so severely Goodell and the owners are trying to distract Washington and the public into thinking that they have the problem under control.

For us, the uglier the better.
At some point, the league will have to pony up ALL the evidence.
If all they've got is Hargrove's statement and Williams' co-operation,
they may have to drop this thing, and just let all be warned.

I can actually see this as an outcome. The NFL owners will know, that millions in legal fees, possible lose of the CBA in the supreme court, and possible government involvement would be the worst thing. It could stop football and their cash.
It would make more sense at that point to let Goddell go because of mismanagement , to save face, and slap the Saints on the wrist. That means reinstating SP also.

Boy....sometimes Skip says some real garbage stuff! BUT....I'm pleased that there is at least one in the media that backs our players...

B005TED 05-03-2012 12:32 PM

Wait, Skip who?
:jester:

The only thing is - isn't there some audio of one of the Saints saying "show me the money" or something like that when Favre got knocked out? Mike Florio wrote about this a while back.

In any case, whether the players were guilty or not, one thing stands clear: The Commissioner f*cking hates our guts!

So they have evidence of somebody saying "show me the money". That doesn't prove anything other than somebody said "show me the money".

Maybe the player was a huge Jerry McGuire fan...

Show me the money!!!
