Triplett:Source says NFL twisted GW's testimony too

Anthony Hargrove's declaration looks bad for the New Orleans Saints and the NFL - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com

And according to a source close to Williams, the NFL has also misrepresented what Williams said in interviews with the league. According to the source, Williams never admitted a "bounty program" was in place and that the league "rephrased his statements to satisfy its needs." The source also said Williams never identified any players for their involvement in a pay-for-performance or bounty program.

That doesn't mean the NFL's case is fabricated, or that the Saints are innocent. But so far, the details of both Hargrove's and Williams' testimonies have stood out as the NFL's most compelling evidence that has been shared with the public. And when bits and pieces of the league's evidence can be picked apart, it creates a greater atmosphere of skepticism when it comes to simply accepting the NFL's word that it has indisputable and overwhelming evidence of the Saints' guilt.

I'm no one.

And Hargrove says he was never told to lie. But we are still made to assume that because he didn't admit anything, it's because he was told not to.

This record is so broken, it's nothing but dust now.

I don't doubt we had some sort of program, but I also believe it was no where near as sinister as the league is trying to paint it.

It may not happen, but I want so badly for this whole thing to unravel in a very public and glorious way. I want the league to be forced into a corner where even though it won't openly confess it, that everyone will have no choice but to draw the conclusion most of us drew months ago: This is about head trauma and the league's willingness to hide information from players and then later, when leveraged by congress, assume the 'we're in it for player safety' face.

Please let this thing come all the way unglued. I've said it elsewhere. I'd be happy to see the players strike over the whole thing, even though I know they won't. Still, they were forced to accept Roger as all-powerful with the latest CBA even though they didn't want to. No time like now to take aim at that particular problem and, even if they can't fix it now, lay the ground work to correct that glaring issue the next time around.

C'mon Man...

It's obviously not as sinister as they have made it. If it was the evidence would have manifested itself on the field. A specific bounty paid for a specfic play. SHOW IT. If they can do that I accept it. If they can't, then this is a modern day witch hunt for a team to be used as damage control for the looming lawsuits.

The more that comes out the worse it gets for the NFL.. They better cover their a$$ because I sense lawsuits coming in the form of defamation and illegal breach of contract. The NFL could find itself on the hook for a multi-million dollar class-action suit. Good job RG, better start looking for a new job bud lol.

Like I said yesterday.

Time for the NFLPA to get off its lazy ass and start the depositions. If the NFL will not give the info, the NFLPA needs to go get the info. Start with deposing Goodell and get him to tell what has been said to whom, by whom, etc... Then go on to his investigators, then Mary Jo White who has seen all the "evidence"...

Stop asking frikken questions in the public, start asking them under sworn testimony.

Once the NFLPA has that its time to compile and compare, any variance in testimony should be highlighted as inconsistent and fabricated.

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. ~ Henry David Thoreau
